Not as good as Eight Legged Freaks.
Eight Legged Freaks, while in its own right a decent movie, is in my opinion way too silly and the effects get absolutely awful at times.
Yeah it's pretty bad I was joking.
Yeah it's pretty bad I was joking.
Not necessarily bad in a 'bad bad' kind of way. Sure, the effects are kind of crappy and the spiders themselves aren't the least bit scary (I mean come on, there's at least one occurrence of a spider actually going 'wee') but 8LF is a true blue popcorn film and there's nothing wrong with those.
Monsters university. 8.7/10
Why do we not have a thread for this movie
Yeah, that's pretty odd. I guess no one got really excited since it sounded like a rehash and it wasn't Incredibles 2.
Silver Linings Playbook 8.5/10
Loved this movie, it was pretty awesome and funny at times. It'd be a movie I'd watch again.
Hitchcock 7/10
Fun to watch and a bit creepy at times but I feel like they could have done more.
Perks of Being a Wallflower 7.5/10
Funny and interesting movie, I really liked the characters. Strong, good ending.
Masters of the Universe - 5.5/10
I would of given the film a 3/10, but man, Frank Langella's performance as Skeletor is nearly able to save this film from being a disaster. The film would just be plain shit without Langella, he plays a villain so perfectly, it makes Guy Pearce in Iron Man 3 wish Ben Kingsley was the real villain. But still the film is mediocre, but hey, it's a good film to show to kids who like Star Wars and other 80's sci-fi films.
Example of Frank Langella's amazing performance. That theme when Skeletor enters makes Darth Vader's Imperial March sound like a Sunday parade. Yes, I am saying Skeletor's theme sounds more evil and militaristic than Vader's.

I didn't like Iron Man 3 as an Iron Man movie. It was a good movie, just not Iron Man.
I mean, he doesn't even wear a functional suit for more than 5 minutes. And when he does, it's not the tradition one he wears in 1 and 2 and Avengers. Kind of disappointed me. Should have been called, "Tony Stark" and not "Iron Man"
Spring Breakers
-10/10
God I don't know why my friend wanted to watch this. It is literally trash in every sense of the word. Giving it a 0/10 just doesn't cut it for me. It is so bad, so shallow and so crappy that it deserves a 10 in the entire opposite spectrum of horribleness.
I mean the fucking intro is Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. Seriously just look at the soundtrack.
Half the fucking soundtrack is Skrillex
not enough skrillex

Iron Man is better when he's Tony Stark.

This was a pretty interesting film - a late 90s action/antihero/pulp/crime/thriller. It's definitely more "cult classic" than "classic", but if you like Sam Raimi and/or Liam Neeson you oughta check it out.
I think Darkman and Batman Begins/TDKR are the only movies I like Liam Neeson in.

What about The Phantom Menace, Taken 2, and Wrath of the Titans???
I always forget that he was in Phantom Menace.
I wish I could forget the rest of that movie too.

The Phantom Menace was my favorite when I was a kid. At least it wasn't as boring as the 2nd prequel
You Are Umasou
Damn this movie got me, right in the feels. It was basically Dinosaur x Tarzan with 150 times more kung fu and it was fucking great. It's 7AM so that's all I have to say.

I honestly can't think of anything that was good in this movie. It had such a great concept that would have been amazing if it was done correctly but instead it felt like a Disney movie with swearing, because that makes it super serious right? And the plot was just the dumbest thing ever conceived. The movie focused so little on the four magician characters that I really didn't end up caring about them, in fact I hoped they would get caught.
Zero's just a bit harsh. But yeah, it was pretty fucking awful. I had much more fun ripping on it with my brother afterwards than actually watching it.
Such a great premise, though. It could've been great, but it was just handled poorly.
I think Cloud Atlas is one of the biggest examples of love/hate movie. No one's going to get anywhere if we keep arguing about it, so we should probably just stop posting about it.
Also, Mr Deeds (Adam Sandler remake) 2.5/5
Better than I expected, there were some funny moments. But in the end it was pretty forgettable. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be though.

There are no words. This movie needs to be seen to be believed.

Quite good. The ending was perfect. I recommend this film.

my friends refuse to believe that the prequels are bad
and i keep telling them and telling them and they just won't believe it. they think jar jar was a GOOD IDEA

hes potentially the worst person in the world
Even George Lucas regrets Jar Jar and he is terrible
i find it sad that the only star wars prequel everyone hated the absolute most was actually the only mildly decent one of the prequels
perhaps if ppl didnt have to put up with jar jar ppl could actually see that its a better movie than the steaming pile of shit that was episode 3
the only reason everyone seems to think the last prequel was the better of the bunch was simply bc it was much more action packed and ~dramatic~ or ~ominous~
basically the same reason everyone seems to be so okay with michael bays transformers series so much
lmao what?? what sort of world are you living in???
Revenge of the Sith is the best (still a shit film but the best prequel), Attack of the Clones is the worst, and the Phantom Menace is somewhere between the two (very close to Attack of the Clones level of shit)
i dont understand how you can think the phantom menace is even "mildly decent"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T0_O9CoQWw
2 was the worst. Yea 1 is awful but not as awful as people think, considering the fact that Attack Of The Clones exists. 2 was just so boring and had shitty politics and Hayden Christensen. I remember 3 being the best basically for those reasons you described. It has more fun than 2 and less retard kids and aliens than 1.

george lucas is a master screenwriter
I just depise that the first episodes have a lot of childish humor, especially the Phantom Menace. Jar-jar and Anaking are such annoying characters. Simply the fact that Anaking destroys the Confederate controlship by accident forces me to rip my eyes out.
[editline]29th June 2013[/editline]
Also the fucking lame and annoying romance which is so cliche.
I REALLY don't understand why they picked Hayden Christensen for the prequels of what's possibly the most famous sci fi trilogy in the world. It just doesn't make any sense, there's a ton of B-movie actors that do the job better than him
Date Night: 7
I love Steve Carrel so I decided to give it a shot. Thought it was hilarious.
