the first three quarters / two thirds of The Interview are pretty bad
the last portion of it is okay but not anything amazing
I liked some of the sets I guess? Probably won't watch it ever again, or if I do it'll be with friends if they really really want to see it and as long as there's definitely going to be a better film on afterwards
if you ever feel like watching something with the interview's type of humor just see any of the other seth rogen films, they're all better
not if youre saying the interview was good
this whole "my opinion is fact" joke is getting stale mate
get a new routine

The Interview was some of his best work?
I love how everyone seems to specifically hate The Interview, perhaps because it's popular?
Tbh pineapple express is so fuckin good it's a 9 that I know should not be a 9 but it owns so idc
I feel like I shouldn't like Pineapple Express as much as I do, but it's pretty funny, and super well made in every area actually.

what, no, it had cheaper jokes than pretty much everything else he's done and on a technical aspect it was just terrible (cgi, camerawork, etc), why jump to the conclusion i hate it just because its popular

Yeah David Gordon Green is actually a really good director, his drama stuff before he started doing comedy was really acclaimed and considered to be favourably like Malick. Prince Avalanche is his latest and a bit of a return, really liked it. One of my favourite films of last year.

sorry. i only make these posts to amuse specifically you. now that i know you think its getting stale, i'd better find a new schtick
the interview is very dumb and anybody who thinks its genuinely a good movie is a factually very dumb person
Still haven't bothered to watch The Interview. I'm just not that interested in it.

8.5/10, pretty good, would watch again - specially Vera Farmiga's butt.

9/10, I have never watched this movie before, it's really good. A proper vampire movie. It's been awhile since I've watched a movie where vampires are sadistic and unstoppable, blood-thirsty machines of death.
Special mention to Bill Paxton, for his role as the most badass vampire ever.
Speaking of Bill Paxton...

9.5/10
Nightcrawler is fucking awesome. Jake Gyllenhaal's performance as Louis Bloom is amazing. He's sociopathic, emotionless, and cold, and he takes his job very seriously, even going as far as [sp]letting his partner lie on the ground and bleed out while he records him for his news story.[/sp] Just about everything in the movie is perfect, although the ending seemed kind of abrupt.
All in all, just watch it. Everyone and everything is great in it.
Fuck yea, Bill Paxton was awesome in Nightcrawler.
And Gyllenhaal's character was amazing too. He's been getting pretty damn good roles lately, his latest movies are really good.
If Gyllenhaal is in it, chances are it's pretty good.
Moonrise Kingdom(again)
Still love this movie, sweet/10
The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Barmies
4/10- Its only saving grace was some cool CGI, nods to LOTR and its art. The film's storyline as a whole? A confused and massively disappointing mess that somehow managed to simply get crappier as the film progressed.
Also the amount of fucking screen time Alfred got was just bewildering. The movie would have actually been better if [sp]he had died on the fucking boat with the Master.[/sp]
As for people making the comparisons between Peter Jackson and George Lucas' flapping gizzard its legitimate after this shit heap of a film.
if you think about it, jake gyllenhaal really hasn't made a bad movie
like yeah prince of persia sucked but that was the studio's fault and whoever decided that bringing in pirates of the caribbean to prince of persia was a good idea. he was still alright in it, despite the shitty script he had to go off on.
"He's never made a bad movie except for that one really bad movie but that doesn't count."

Alfrid is, by a large margin, the absolute worst character in a movie that I can think of. Is he supposed to be buffoonish comic relief? If so, that completely fails because his antics are rarely funny, and even those that could be (e.g. crossdressing) are undercut by the fact that he's being totally loathsome while doing them (e.g. stealing, hiding from battle). It's obvious that none of the other characters like or respect him, so why do they keep giving him authority and responsibility? He's cowardly, selfish, disrespectful, and puts others in harm's way, but receives absolutely no consequences or comeuppance. At least twice he's nearly killed but is saved for no reason by Bard.
literally the worst
Prince of Persia isnt THAT bad of a movie. It has some neat things to it but overall its just ok
Foxcatcher
10/10
I don't even know how to put my review into words. The main casts' performances were all incredible, each of them being Best Actor worthy. Steve Carell completely transformed himself into John du Pont. Overall, it was incredible and easily my favourite film of 2014.

Day After Tomorrow?
A Robot and Frank - 8/10 - Just a overall nice movie, I really enjoyed the "near-future" setting to the movie.
Dawn of the Dead (1978) 8.75/10
First thing I should say is that this movie is 70’s as fuck, everything from the hair, dat synthy soundtrack, and weird ass special effects. The special effects are something I actually want to talk about because they are kind of a mixed bag. I think the blood and gore you get in this movie is great, a little cheesy mind you but it fits the tone of the movie incredibly well. If you want some good fucking special features you can find some really good videos of Tom Savini talking about blowing up a fake head filled with mayonnaise and corn. However every now and then you get some weird shit like knife stabs that don’t have any corresponding sound effects, this is actually a huge problem because the whole encounter can lose its punch and make the scene feel a little goofy. Then again you can get away with some of this weird shit in Dawn than any other of the Romero Dead movies, especially the original Dead trilogy.
The difference between Dawn and any other Dead movie is actually something I want to talk about. If you go watch Night of the Living Dead or Day of the Dead you’re basically watching the Last of Us movie (or at least better than any Last of Us movie we are ever gonna get). The Night and Day movie are fucking gritty, there themes are dark, and they are honest in their presentation. By that I mean Romero isn’t trying to trick you, he is telling you a dark ass story but he is being honest and straight forward. Dawn of the Dead is a whole different beast, it is basically parody. Parody that goes more than skin deep, it is easy to make the connections between the consuming flesh eating zombies walking around the mall, and the humans who once consumed at the mall. Yeah that is the surface comparison that everyone can make “oh maybe we are the zombies huc huc asbfkjasfbkg” yeah my niece can make that comparison but Dawn goes a little deeper than that. Something you need to remember is the Dawn is a parody, and in parody sub-text tends to become text. So basically if you want to pull something away from Dawn of the Dead you need to look at the sub-text of the text, if that makes any sense.
Yeah I think I wrote a little too much, maybe I am compensating for something. But there you go Dawn of the Dead my favorite of George Romero’s Dead movies.
Jurassic Park - 10/10
I still love it, maybe even more now. Script, Characters, Tech , The Goldblum, almost a perfect movie. I'll remember the soundtrack when I'm 80
Dumb And Dumber To
I liked it but I guess for me, it wasn't anything more than just a fun movie. It had some moments that made me chuckle and I enjoyed watching it but that's it I guess.
Day After Tomorrow?
hmm, he didn't do much in it though (also i actually liked the movie)
Day After Tomorrow?
Yea... right after that movie, he was in Brokeback Mountain and later on, in Jarhead (his iMDb page).
He recovered really nicely from that one.
[editline]30th December 2014[/editline]
And now, this is him after his role in "Nightcrawler", in his upcoming movie "Southpaw".

It'd be his second time losing weight for a role, then putting it back on, plus bulking up (see the Prince of Persia movie).
Dude is pretty much right up there with Christian Bale when it comes to commitment to his roles.

Hey, here's a wacky idea - I could totally see him as the Riddler, or Green Lantern.
definitely the riddler, he wouldn't be my choice for green lantern but i think he'd do a fine job.
Yea definitely, I think he'd make a great Riddler.
Jumanji 8/10, admitedly 2 of those points are nostalgic but I really like how much of a dark turn it took.
I always say Neil Patrick Harris should be the Riddler. Gone Girl showed he can put on a dark and serious persona whilst all of his other roles proves he has the charm that a role like the Riddler requires.
That being said, having seen what Jake Gyllenhall did in Nightcrawler, he's now close competition in my dream list.
Just been to see 2001: A Space Odyssey at the National Media Museum. It was a real experience, complete with a 15-minute intermission in the middle. I've tried to watch 2001 before but couldn't get through it because of its very slow pace, so when I heard the BFI was organising some screenings I thought it would be the only way I'd ever watch it all the way through, and cool to see it on the big screen. Of course like most people I've already seen pretty much every scene individually, or at least references to them in other media.
They didn't show any trailers before it and instead showed a trailer for a 1960s Orson Welles-narrated travel documentary thing, kind of built up a retro atmosphere. They also played a track from the soundtrack before the film started, I guess that's something they used to do?
Kind of weird to give fucking 2001 a rating but overall I'd say this Kubrick kiddo has a lot to learn about cinema, 0/10 the film sucked
I don't know, it feels like it's more of an 'experience' than other films, not something you can really put a number on. 9??
