8/10
Creative horror movie and one of the better Stephen King adaptions.
Oblivion - 8.5/10
Like many people, colour me surprised. The trailer made it look pretty simple and predictable, and even though the storyline isnt really complex i still enjoyed the f*ck out of this movie
the kick-ass concepts theyve designed and the stunning STUNNING visuals (note i didnt even see it on imax or 3D, just normal screening) make up for the little cheesy romance and lack of real emotional connection
gonna rewatch this week
So I re-watched 'The Fifth Element' for the first time in a while yesterday. Still 10/10 for me.
Think it might be my favorite Sci-fi movie, I really love the design of future New York.
Chronicle
I remember when I saw the trailer I was thinking this can't be good. Finally saw it and I really liked it. I think the movie would have been better if it was shot normally but to give them credit they implemented the "found footage" idea in a way that made sense to some extent.
lets go old school for a second
Just watched An Officer and a Gentleman w/ Richard Gere when he was young.
10/10 Loved that movie and the actress(forget her name also in urban cowboy).
the last stand, bad out of 10
a really sad attempt to get arnie back on the big screen, with little or no human thought put into the screenplay. (it may have been written by a robot that is poorly programmed to write films)

i change my score to 2 forest whitaker eyes out of 10
Jurassic Park 3D 8/10 - Here Steven Spielberg take more of my money

Empire of the Sun 9/10 - By far one of my favorite films by STEVEN SLURBERG I NEED MORE

I saw Oblivion and oh my god what a piece of shit movie. Terrible acting, with a predictable story that's been done before. [sp]Moon, 'insert generic post apocalyptic movie' (they even managed to get the statue of liberty in there!!)[/sp]
This movie tried to be so much but fell short.
The last samurai was better/10
I too saw Oblivion. Again, I hate giving numbers to things, but it's probably the first great film I've seen from this year so far. I'm a bit disappointed to see it get lukewarm reviews so far.
I keep hearing that it borrows bits and pieces from a lot of different sci-fi movies. [SP]I will say that the whole clone thing reminds me of Moon. And I guess the Tet and it's destruction is kind of like the Death Star.[/SP] I can't think of much else right now off the top of my head, though. I still enjoyed it as a whole, however.
[sp]Moon was there but Toms character was just too unlikable to create any emotion when it was revealed.[/sp]
Re-watched 'The Shawshank Redemption', I have no words to describe my love of that movie.
The whole plot has you routing for Andy the whole time and then the plot twist (which I never noticed was as hidden as it was)is such an amazing payoff.
10/10
I must rewatch Shawshank Redemption some day again. It was great.
Iron Man 3 - 8/10
I wouldn't say it's as much of a thrill as Iron Man but it is definitely better than Iron Man 2. I felt like the presentation of the film, especially the intro 15 minutes was wrong for this kind of thing, but you have to [sp]Stick around for the post credit scene for it to make sense[/sp] and its humourous, which is something the film never loses sight of despite seeing Tony Stark take fall after fall during the film. I think the one thing I really liked is [sp]that despite tony designing this new armour for extra "ease of use", it makes him more vulnerable than ever. It can literally be torn from his body. But at the end of the film it shows him having essentially a crapton of suits for every situation which he can fit into. It's nice that he wasn't just invincible with his new armour.[/sp]
However the soundtrack sucks in this (there's barely any music throughout), but thats about the only thing I can properly choose to criticise. I don't know much about the Iron Man lore in the comics, but I didn't read any spoilers and the trailer gave away not a lot in terms of the story and twists which is great.
Go see it, it's good.

How is the villain?
Give me a villain rating, I must know if Kingsley succeeds in this film

i give Kingsley 9/10 villains in this film, for he plays his part very well
and I never did see him coming

When I first saw the Shawshank Redemption, It was very sad to see [sp]the old man commit suicide[/sp]
Then when Red [sp]got on the chair in the movie, I thought he was gonna commit suicide too[/sp] so i quickly stopped watching it and cried. But when i rewatched the ending, i felt soo happy
honestly can't wait to see gandhi as a supervillain, gonna be good.
also I saw The Last Stand.
Weren't THAT BAD.
Been a while since I watched a mediocre action flick, but in all reality once you put yourself into that place where you're 13 watching True Lies it's all good.
Not that it's as good as True Lies but it's a 65 year old man whose still got it in him to do things other than look and talk like Schwarzenegger :v:
Script is... quite poor, but considering what I expected before seeing it, better.
There's really no point talking about anything else, it revisits cheese that arnold movies are known for and as a whole pretty OKAY. OKAY?

the only movie where his eye thing adds to his role is when he played Idi Amin, that thing freaked me out :(
A Single Man - 7/10
its a gay movie. i did not know that
Ricochet
7/10, John Lithgow is great
I still don't understand why the videogame adaptation has nothing to do with it, though
Argo
Ben Affleck/10.
Well made movie, quite suspenseful and overall entertaining, but how this movie won Best Picture is a mystery.
Didn't like how it was very pro-CIA, bordering on propaganda.
Oblivion, 8/10.
To be put simply, a good, solid and satisfying movie. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, and it caught me off guard in that it wasn't what I was expecting. [sp]I was expecting it to be a generic plot like Humans vs. Aliens etc.[/sp] [sp]Like someone pointed out previously in this thread, it reminded me of Moon in the idea of there being numerous clones and it took that idea and expanded on it in many different ways and the numerous twists throughout kept me entertained greatly.[/sp]
Argo

Same reason that piece of trash The Hurt Locker won best picture and how Bigelow's film after that, Zero Dark Thirty, was critically acclaimed despite actually being far worse than The Hurt Locker
[editline]24th April 2013[/editline]
They were both piles of shit but Argo was actually a good movie despite being pretty propaganda-y
It's not about how much it glorifies america.. it's more about how relavent it is to people.
You really think King's Speech or No Country for Old Men would have won if that were the case?

@marden
Jack Reacher. 8.5/10
I really enjoyed the movie.
Hobo with a Shotgun 7.8/10 - "When life gives you razor blades... you make a baseball bat covered in razor blades."
Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One - 4/10
It seems like Roddenberry was in the gutter when making the first season. Most of the episodes are poorly written, stupid plots. The first half of the first episode with Q seemed fun to watch but the second half just scrapped that plot with a more confusing one until it mixed the good plot with the confusing one giving a whole lot of shit confusion.
The most hated aspect of this season is of course our dear friend
Wesley Crusher
When their is Wesley-sodes in the show, I just scream in pain and agony.
I think the best episodes in the season were Conspiracy, 11001001 and Datalore
Would you recommend to new comers to TNG that you need to start off with the first season if they already kinda know the setting and the characters?
The Evil Dead
It was okay.
Ghostbusters - 10/10
First time watching the full thing. I love the fuck out of it already.
I actually prefer the first one over the rest of them. I don't know why.
Haven't seen II or AoD yet so we'll see.
