Kill Bill Vol. 1
My favourite Tarantino movie. Easily better than Pulp Fiction or Django.

just to let you know, if I'm giving off the impression that the only movies I watch are downers, that's not true.
If I want a joyous movie it has to be so joyous that it rivals orgasms. I like my emotions to be run deep into the ground.
Yeah but there are times when you need an average joe film to level it all out.
I'm gonna watch Seom (The Isle), poster looks solemn and peaceful:

what can go wrong....
It also became notorious for being difficult to watch, with stories of viewers vomiting or passing out during the more gruesome scenes when the film premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
Ha! Ha ha ha...
i heard the cinematography is nice
Is Akira Kurosawa's Dreams any good?
Is Akira Kurosawa's Dreams any good?
I haven't seen it, but Martin Scorsese plays Vincent Van Gogh in that movie, so it should be pretty good.
Unbreakable
8/10
This movie was really great, it absorbed me even though I'm not into superheroes and such things. The plot itself was really intruiging and well put together, the cast was just on spot. Every introduced character contributed their part really well. It could not have been better. Also the camerawork and lightening was really great, some shots were really well made. Furthermore the soundtrack was really good.
Before I knew the movie was already over and it left me wanting for more, which is a good thing. Unfortunately the ending is really abrupt and unexpected, it leaves a lot of questions open but in a good way. I wish the movie would continue a bit more.
My favorite part was when he entered the trainstation and the music just kicks in. The whole movie just connected me and touched me.
Oceans 12
8.5/10
Great cast, solid movie.
I have a soft spot for heist movies, Oceans 12 is one of the best.

Ocean's Eleven is one of my favorite movies. Twelve isn't as great but its still a lot of fun.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I've ever seen Eleven. Gonna have to go watch that one
World War Z
Unwatchable/10
Goodfellas- 10/10
Flawless movie that had a huge impact on me in high school. Still just as amazing as I remember it. I don't even like gangster movies that much, they were never my thing, but holy shit, this movie, man.
Seriously one of the best. Like, in my top 3 best movies I've ever fucking seen. See it.
Seriously. Stop reading this right now and watch the first 10 minutes, I'll guarantee you'll be in love.
I knew I was gonna love the movie as soon as Liotta said "as far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster" and the opening credits started.
finally got around to watching City of God after I kept getting told it was amazing, and indeed it was. truly an awesome experience
Primer - 8/10
The Best of Both Worlds - 9/10
I was disappointed I wasn't able to get to the one night showing back in April, my father didn't allow me to 'waste' 20 dollars on it. I regret missing the showing, it was the only time TNG would be on the big screen. But now, today, while at Walmart. On a empty shelf laid five Blu-ray films. I knew one, it was Jurassic Park but I already owned it, I think one of them also was Indy II. But in the middle of this shelf laid the movie I missed previously 3 months prior.
For 14 dollars was the bluray of The Best of Both Worlds, I quickly grabbed this and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and 20 minutes later arrived home and popped it into my Vizio player. The quality of this bluray is seamlessly beautiful. It feels like it was from a television show in 2000-2004. The print was from 1990, but it felt so modern that the hd transfer was one of the greatest transfers I've ever seen. The detail is so amazing in what this transfer has done.

They redone all the effects with CGI, the CGI was great for the release. You can barely see it but up close you can see some fuzz but that can be ignored. But back to the plot and such. The first act is very good, while being mostly centered on Riker, I can see why the cliffhangar made alot of people gasped. But the second act felt rushed and watered down. [sp]It's like 'WE HAVE TO SAVE PICARD, HE MAY STILL BE ALIVE EVEN THOUGH THE BORG HAVE ALREADY KILLED SO MANY PEOPLE[/sp]. The ending was also disappointing. [sp] Data manages to save the day by having Picard/Locutus do something the last second. and Picard returns to life [/sp] I would of liked this two parter to also been longer. But overall I recommend the Best of Both Worlds Blu-Ray be in your shelf if you love Star Trek.
put on Kiki's Delivery Service for my niece, better than watching Peppa Pig all the live long day........................
The Dark Knight Rises - 4/10
Seriously people find this movie good? Jumpy nonsensical plot with characters you can't even understand. Plus it scared the dogs.
Jiro Dreams of Sushi - 9/10
I don't know what it was about this movie but it really seem to hit home with me. It was fascinating to look into the life of a dedicated master sushi chef. The soundtrack was amazing too.
watched Lars and the Real Girl
it was original, unique, and interesting. the subject material was handled really well and i thought for sure it was going to devolve into heavy handed sappiness but it never does. Gosling gives a stellar performance as always.
i would rate this film Pretty Darn Good
Monsters University - 9/10
I honestly thought it wasn't gonna be that great because of the disappointment of Brave and a certain sequel that begins with a C that will not be mentioned in this thread, but Pixar is back in the game. If you enjoyed Monsters Inc. as a kid, just watch this movie. It ties in really well, has a really good plot (I thought the movie was gonna end when [sp]Mike won the Scare Games, which I originally thought was a terrible "YOU CAN BE WHOEVER YOU WANT TO BE IF YOU TRY" kind of ending, but then we found out that Sully cheated to make him win, which carried on the story to a really good ending)[/sp] and it was pretty funny too. Also, there were a bunch of references to Monsters Inc., especially near the end, it was brilliant.
The only real complaint I can think was [sp]how abruptly Randall which to the "bad side" and pretty much was forgotten for the majority of the movie. Then at the end when Sully beat him, that was like the only reason for having the immense hatred towards him in Monsters Inc.[/sp] But that's pretty much it.
Trance 8/10. It was a very good film and requires some thinking but I didn't like where the plot went at near the end of the movie.
The Flintstones: A XXX Parody
10/10
Olympus has fallen
6/10
what the hell was that all about?
The Dark Knight Rises - 4/10
Seriously people find this movie good? Jumpy nonsensical plot with characters you can't even understand. Plus it scared the dogs.
That movie could've been great. But they threw way too much in there, and it ended up being cluttered and cliche. If they had cut out [sp]Talia, the bomb, and JGL's character,[/sp] it would've been an amazing film. Rises is definitely my least favorite of the trilogy. Which disappoints me since The Dark Knight is personally my favorite film. Watched it all the way through at least 2 dozen times.

Went on a Christian Bale spree last week:
Equilibrium: It had an interesting concept. The fight scenes were either cheesy, cool, or both. Not really sure how to number it. Watch it if you're bored. It's not amazing though.
The Machinist: I liked this one quite a bit. It was a little strange at moments. But overall I loved the setting and the characters. Highly recommend this one.
American Psycho: Very interesting movie. I loved the satirical humor. I now know where Jeff Lindsay got his inspiration for Dexter. In the novels(not the tv show), Dexter's thoughts and narrations are incredibly similar to Bateman's.
Inglorious Basterds - GLOOOORIOUS!/10
The Flintstones: A XXX Parody

Avengers XXX Porn Parody 9/10
Not enough Hawkeye plowing Black Widow for my taste.
We all know Batman XXX: A Porn Parody is the best

Warm Bodies
8.5/10
Now I've seen some people comparing this film to the Twilight series in the past, and now I have no idea why. Personally, I found the concept of the film really original, the SFX looked great, and I loved the idea of a (relatively) post-apocalyptic zombie film from the perspective of the other team.
I really liked the progression of the story, and I'm a sucker for a [sp]Romance with a good ending. :v:[/sp]
The only reason that I've rated it an 8.5 and not a 9 is due to scenes towards the end of the film [sp]because I just found it a little cheesy.[/sp] Which isn't necessarily bad, but just not for me personally.
[editline]Eggman[/editline]
Also, I was in love with half of the soundtrack.
