White House down 5.5/10 Literally pooping red white and blue
Spring Breakers 1/10 fuck everything
Spring Breakers 1/10 fuck everything
Here comes mikey
Clue 7/10 Watched it mostly because Tim Curry was in it
Despicable Me 2: 4/5 Sometimes it's fun to go to the movies and watch something nice and cute. And oh my god there were a couple parts where I just could not stop laughing. Go see it, it's good. Light, innocent comedy.
I watched Spring Breakers. It was literally "Spring Break Forever" x the running length of the movie
The Pianist. Beautiful movie with a real good insight on the how the Jews were treated in Germany. <I also had to watch it for a history course> 10/10
Adrien Brody was a perfect choice for the jew.
Olympus Has Fallen - 3/10 retarded piece of shit
Trance - 8/10 Oh boy. The visuals were perfect, OST was perfect, I think it might be my favourite Danny Boyle's film. The story is a bit overcomplicated and seriously went over the top sometimes but nonetheless I liked it. [sp]The moment with Franck in a car on fire, shit was so tense.[/sp]
BeetleJuice - 10/10 A great movie I finally managed to watch (Had no time), I can't really say what I like about it besides the Music, Characters and Acting. I would definitely re-watch this any time and go back in time to watch it in the cinema.
City Of God 9/10 and 50/50 7.5/10
Breathless (1960)- 5/5 A Fantastic film and one of the most impressive debuts I've seen, as well as my favourite Godard film to date. It's his most innovative, his most fun, his most well written and most quirky. Loved this film. A really interesting take on the crime genre, and a play on American gangster/noir films. (Michel clearly lives his life as if he's some Humphrey Bogart icon- from his badboy looks and manners, to the way he dresses, always smoking, to little things like moving his fingers on his lips. The dialogue is truly fantastic and aside from just how cool his cinematography is, it's the best part of any Godard film. I love the way Godard talks about things like love and sex. So blasé but so interesting and he says things better than most. I loved this film and one of the things I enjoy about Godard is just watching him do so many things for the first time. You can see his influence in everything from Manhattan to Pulp Fiction to Dogville. It's outstanding. A cinematic pioneer if there ever was one. [editline]10th July 2013[/editline] Also The Enigma Of Kasper Hauser- 3/5 Caught this in the cinema, it's doing a little theatrical run as it's been remastered. Looks great. A very interesting tale of a man kept in captivity all his life, never walking or seeing another human being, suddenly being picked up and left in the middle of a small town. The film follows his development from being a regressed animal to a powerful intellectual as he learns the ways of this town- questioning things, learning what the concept of logic is, there are some really fascinating pieces of dialogue here. His mention of God, talking about being in and out of the tower, his emotional growth... I want to say I loved the film but I didn't. It dragged far too much at the start and although there were several powerful moments, and was a fantastic character study, it wasn't as engaging as I'd hoped. Of the 2 classic Herzog films I've seen I don't care particularly much for either although I think he's an interesting director and I'm going to keep looking into his work. I plan on watching his documentary "Grizzly Man" next. [editline]10th July 2013[/editline] I also forgot to mention that the jazz score to Breathless is amazing and pretty much perfect
City Of God 9/10 and 50/50 7.5/10
For a few seconds, I thought you gave three different ratings to the same movie.
Oh man, I adored 50/50. Probably my favorite movie of 2011, and if not, it's at least in the top 5. I just can't think of any other movies that came out that year that I really loved at the top of my head.
it was good but too predictable ([sp]it was pretty obvious levitt wouldn't die in the end[/sp])

It actually made me tear up a couple of times.
Saw 6/10 Saw II 7/10 Saw III 5/10
Lost in Translation 9/10 I had a good time with this. Very real and relatable (at least for me), the acting was expecially good and while before I didn't give much attention to Bill Murray now I have to admit he is great. The story isn't gimmicky, doesn't shove anything in your face and unravels itself at a comfortable and relaxing pace that makes it all the more enjoyable. People that find it boring should change their pastime.
Saw 6/10 Saw II 2.5/10 Saw III 1.5/10
This would be ok.
Youth In Revolt 8/10 I thought it was fucking fantastic [editline]10th July 2013[/editline] It's one of my new silly favourites
The Cabin in the Woods - 9/10 Why haven't I seen this movie until now? It's basically [sp]SCP Foundation: the movie[/sp] [editline]10th July 2013[/editline] Unintentionally appropriate spoiler tag.

The characters you meet in it all had their own side of it and the story of the murder was so crazy that it kept me enthralled. Scary
just watched El Topo (The Mole) Well... I wasn't expecting that, in any way. It's the most acidic western I've ever seen, there really is nothing that even steps close to what this film did for me. It's so surreal, yet real and pure. I thought I'd be very distant from the way this film moved but in all truth there wasn't a second that left me. It journied inwards and broke me again towards the end. Extraordinary film that needs to be mentioned more. Very significant and also [sp]sand-sex[/sp]. I really have no intention to compare this to another film, it's just a bewildering spiritual film with its own unique engine. Grab the blu-ray too it's good. [editline]11th July 2013[/editline] honestly it's one of the strongest, yet a dumb rotten tomato and imdb rating. Even though I'll put this among "acid" films, I really don't mean it literally. When things like this get associated with drug taking, it really degrades the reputation as well as the discussion of it.
Saw 6/10 Saw II 7/10 Saw III 5/10
the series should have ended here, they could have wrapped it up with what's his face who survives from the first film coming out and being like "yeah i'm taking over" instead of dragging it out for another 4 films.
The Lone Ranger. Easily a 4/5, and coming from me that's a surprise because I fucking HATE Johnny Depp more than just about any other actor out there. I don't see the reason behind the panning of this movie - it was extremely enjoyable, well paced, and pretty bloody funny. Despite all of that and even despite my 4/5 score, I still have a some big points of criticism... The first third or half of the movie was all really serious, dark and violent, then suddenly it went completely spastic from that point on with endless humor, horribly excessive and poorly done CGI and countless ridiculous setpieces... it's almost like they changed director half way through or something. I also really wish they hadn't bothered with the modern-day-but-flashbacks style of storytelling, it was unnecessary and I've always hated that as it pulls me away from becoming fully engrossed in the actual story they're trying to tell. It's like if I keep seeing this 'future' where I know how things end up, it almost makes watching the flashbacks pointless... I hate that. But otherwise it was a very funny, enjoyable movie, absolutely not family friendly but packed with nostalgia (I did watch a lot of Long Ranger as a kid believe it or not). We all left with a smile on our faces, and that's all I could have asked for. It's a bit of a hollow experience and your interpretation of the Lone Ranger's moral values are left entirely up to your own imagination, but that's not such a big deal. Great scene towards the end with the theme playing and lots of shit blowing up, loved that. Hi yo Silver, awaaaaayyyy! DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!! [editline]Armie[/editline] Armie Hammer! Give this man more movie roles PLEASE.
So, are the critics really wrong about Lone Ranger? So far, most seem hellbent on it being trash, but all reviews I've seen here (and one other place) have been positive.
I can't really explain it very well - on the outside it's easy to say "what a bad movie that was", but it was just so GOOD to watch. I don't know what else to say, we went as a group of 5 and not one person didn't like it. I can only think that the older people reviewing this movie are panning it because it doesn't 'live up' to the old Lone Ranger show... which is utter bullshit. This was a great movie, really funny.
Despicable Me 2: 5/10 I don't why I give a 5 because I think I forgot everything in this movie. Probably because of Cult References, slapsticks humour or probably some annoying character.
Gattaca 9/10 thoroughly enjoyed this one. Great concept and overall well constructed movie, easily one of the best sci-fis I've ever seen.
