anyone know Spike Lee's opinion on Django Unchained?
Probably hates it, like everything Tarantino makes.
He said he wouldn't see it because he thought it would be an offense to his ancestors
The Joker had all that money.
Bane has nothing but people still died for him, like the guy in the plane who stays behind as it's dropped. Why does that person (or everyone he recruits) care so much about blowing up Gotham?
They're all from the League Of Shadows, which Bane became the leader of after Ras Al Ghul's death in the first movie [sp]or at least that's what Talia wants people to think[/sp]. They're trained to do anything for the sake of the "greater good", even if it means ending their own lives. It's the same principal as most terrorist organizations in real life.

he usually hates his movies because of the extensive use of the word nigger
So after all the either love or absolute hate for Spring Breakers I have seen on Facepunch, I decided to check it out.
This movie was kind of depressing, all the excess in the movie. For some reason I was reminded of this Chris Holmes interview

I think someone on FP said they got Apocalypse Now vibes from parts of the movie, and I totally agree.
I don't even think I liked any of the characters really, except Alien, but probably because of Franco and is really good performance.
But I totally understand why people hate it, at face value it looks like Project X 2. But it's really not.
I can't even describe this movie so here is a useless rating.
Honestly I thought the switches between 21:9 and 16:9 was annoying. When you make a movie you shouldn't be switching through aspect ratios. Be consistent is what I say
It's because those scenes were shot in IMAX. I'd rather see the full image than have it cropped.
It's because those scenes were shot in IMAX. I'd rather see the full image than have it cropped.
Then show the rest of the movie in IMAX???
Once again I'd rather see a consistent movie, especially one shot in a relatively unique aspect ratio than one that can't make up its fucking mind on what it wants to be

It's not that easy. The IMAX cameras have some drawbacks - they're really loud while working, for example. That's why they're mainly used in panoramas or scenes where loud effects are added in post-production. In dialogue scenes using them is kind of pointless.

The aspect changes were jarring, but I can see why there would be technical reasons behind it (I cannot however, think of a single artistic reason for it :v:). The film was still quite enjoyable, I didn't particularly notice the changing much when watching it until it was pointed out to me.

considering how annoyed he was by the usage of the word nigger in Jackie Brown (said around 40 times)
i'm sure he'd be having a field day with Django.
and yet we'll see how his Oldboy remake plays out. guy talks a lot of shit for being 5'2" or however short he is.
Evil Dead 2013 - 8/10
It was groovy.
Cockneys Vs Zombies.
It was fucking hilarious.
9/10.
The Dark Knight Rises is amazing. I seriously don't know why people didn't like it.
I thought it was amazing too and I liked it, there's just a few plot holes however. But overall it was a great movie. (Doesn't even begin to compare to TDK though)
I loved TDKR the first time round but it gets more and more dull every time I see it.
I felt like Bane's death was fairly anticlimatic but I suppose that was the point to bring Talia into play. It still felt a bit strange to me.

I'll let my friend here answer that question

don't know if this is counting series. But i just finished watching code geass
8/10 Extremely clever plot... But the last few episodes made me feel realy fucking awful. Not 'teary' sad but just plain awful. This is why i prefer comedy.
The Dark Knight Rises is amazing. I seriously don't know why people didn't like it.
It's pretty easy to understand why people didn't like it. Moreso than getting why people liked it.
If it moved you or whatever, doesn't stop you from seeing it from another person's view.
It was nice to see what Imax cameras pick up but shame the film didn't really evolve from the first two. Void of humour and the writing was bland. It could possibly be the dimmest lengthy film experience I've had but I've not yet seen The Postman :v:
looper - i guess sci-fi movies arent meant to be watched by me since it gave me an headache. plus [sp]old joe fucking shot that kid in the head it doesnt make any fucking sense that he survived.[/sp]

You mean that last part where [sp]they were in the cornfield escaping from old Joe, who then tries to shoot the kid? It only scraped his cheek[/sp]
Brave
Pretty good film, not as good as HTTYD but gave me feels nonetheless. Story felt a bit lacking imo
I saw half of this old German film, 'Run Lola run' today, and I am absolutely baffled as to why it was critically acclaimed.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Run_lola_run
The main characters, Lola and Manni, have almost zero character development, and I disliked both of them. Lola has a number of glass smashing screams throughout the movie, acts entirely on impulse, is childish, and has no redeeming qualities.
The running time is panned with moronically long sequences where Lola runs for about 30 seconds straight or does other stupid shit, with the camera angle staying mostly the same disregarding lightning quick camera angle changes (and back).
The premise isn't even interesting, and is made worse by the fact that there isn't a sap of humour in the entire film.
When we got to about halfway me and my friend had to leave to go do something else, and I told him that I would bet a fiver that by some miraculous, ridiculously unlikely chance the problem is solved.
And what do you know, I was right.
Lola misses her father completely and keeps on running. She enters a casino, buys a single 100-mark chip, and finds a roulette table. She wins two consecutive bets on the number "20", which gives Lola 129,600 marks, more than enough money to help Manni.
I'd give it less than a 6/10.
Pacific rim: 7.5/8/10
Was fun to watch.
Pacific rim: 7.5/8/10

So 7.75/10?
So 7.75/10?
7.5/8 out of 10
so basically less than 1/10
REC 2 9/10
never saw the first one but I really liked this.
Just curious, where does Kevin Spacey fit on you guy's list of good actors? (if at all, but I sure hope he's on it)
