The Worlds End 9/10 the best of the Cornetto Trilogy IMO. Hilarious. Go see it if you're in the UK or New Zealand.

I had real high hopes for this one and it looks it paid off. I will check it out as soon as it comes out in Australia.
Just curious, where does Kevin Spacey fit on you guy's list of good actors? (if at all, but I sure hope he's on it)
He's on my 'good actors list' for sure. Don't know where he fits on the list because I rarely if ever, have a 'tier list' for actors I like based on their acting abilities. But I do like him a lot as an actor.
The Conjuring - 7/10 Goddamn it had its scary moments.
Just curious, where does Kevin Spacey fit on you guy's list of good actors? (if at all, but I sure hope he's on it)
He is rather good. I would say he is one of the best actors of his age, with Gary Oldman and Daniel Day-Lewis alongside. I don't know, I just like him.
Just curious, where does Kevin Spacey fit on you guy's list of good actors? (if at all, but I sure hope he's on it)
I love him but he doesn't really do enough any more. He was king in the 90's but aside House Of Cards what's he done (well he was in Moon but he played the AI) Spacey as Lester in American Beauty is one of my favourite performances, he's perfect for it. Watched a Swedish-Russian film last night on my mum's rec- Lilya 4-Ever 3/5 Powerful and moving, and very depressing. It's about a 16 year old girl living in a really awful and poor part of Russia who is abandoned by her mother and learns she was never wanted. She has no money and no job and only a boy as her friend. She's forced to turn to prostitution as a way to make money. It's dark and kinda disturbing, and it's really brilliantly directed. Enjoyed it a lot, I'd recommend. The way it's directed is almost quirky. The director, Lukas Moodysson, did comedy films before this which explains it. But this film is definitely not a comedy :v:
King Lear - 7/10 This was a film adaptation by Trevor Nunn that was made for TV. The movie had an unusual form, it was a bit of a cross between a filmed play and a movie. It used a lot of camera and lighting techniques used in films, while the actors performed in a manner expected from a stage production. I enjoyed the form of the film, as well as Nunn's interpretation of the themes of King Lear. The acting was also great (Ian McKellen played King Lear). However, the movie was three hours long, and it was a challenge to watch at times. The scenes seemed drawn out at times, with inappropriate pacing. Despite this, the film was entertaining to watch, and I felt satisfied at the end of it.
This is the end - Been ushering this movie all day, so seen pretty much all of it. All I am going to say is that I now have the back streetboys song stuck in my head.
Fear and loathing in las Vegas: 4/5 Back to the future: 5/5 The terminator: 4/5
Catfish That wasn't what I was expecting at all. I thought it was gonna be some lovey dovey story about a six year old artist but man was I wrong. Fake or not, it was pretty damn depressing.
I know "This is the End" and "The World's End" are completely different movies, but darn it the titles are too similar.
Gonna watch terminator 2 again after 14 years I'll be back [editline]19th July 2013[/editline] Gonna watch terminator 2 again after 14 years I'll be back [editline]19th July 2013[/editline] Gonna watch terminator 2 again after 14 years I'll be back [editline]19th July 2013[/editline] Gonna watch terminator 2 again after 14 years I'll be back [editline]19th July 2013[/editline] Gonna watch terminator 2 again after 14 years I'll be back [editline]19th July 2013[/editline] Gonna watch terminator 2 again after 14 years I'll be back

thanks I didnt catch it the first time. Also thanks scot for quoting I wasnt quite sure what he was saying
It isn't very clear.
dude needs to speak up some more
Got screwed by the internet, sorry about that. no, am gonna take 28 years break after seen the movie
Is 42 any good? The baseball movie? Also: The Next Three Days: 7.5/10 Confusing at first. I thought Russel Crowe was being a crazy idiot in love but it turns out quite interesting.
i saw the conjuring premiere yesterday. i went into it with fairly low expectations because it's a horror movie and those have an overwhelming tendency to be shit, but it actually turned out to be a really surprisingly decent example of a recent horror film. pretty solid storyline with creative and effective scare sequences, it succeeded pretty well in most aspects. i'd give it a 9/10, unexpectedly good (but i'm really into a decent horror movie so i may carry a bit of bias)
Die Hard Can't believe I haven't seen this movie sooner. So good. 9/10
Austin Powers 1- 8/10 Austin Powers 2- 9/10 Austin Powers 3- 7.5/10 Love them all, but Goldmember isn't the masterpiece that I remembered it being when I was 10.
even as a kid i remembered goldmember being the lesser film of the trilogy. it has some good moments (and real good moments they are) but definitely is the worst of the three.
I haven't seen it either. I'll see about watching it this Christmas.
I guess it technically is a christmas movie :v:
I haven't seen it either. I'll see about watching it this Christmas.
Go through Die Hard 1, 2, and 3. Hell, 3 is probably the funniest imo because of all the racial shit. I enjoyed 4 and 5 but they're nowhere near up there with the first 3.
Only God Forgives 9/10 Definitely not going to fit everyone's tastes and do not go in expecting a Drive 2. That being said the movie was beautifully shot and the sound mixing is amazing. The one draw back that detracts from the film and would annoy a lot of people is the considerable lack of dialogue. Even if that puts you off I would still recommend going and watching it for the cinematography.
Where did you end up seeing it?
The Music Box in Chicago.
