Just saw The Girl Next Door (2007), didn't know anything about it before I watched it. what the fuck did I just watch/10
Bad lieutenant First half was really dull, seemed to be dragging on, going nowhere. Second half was much better, had a lot more going on and nick cage was pretty "bad" as the bad lieutenant. Liked it, nic cage's character is a horrible, reprehensible human being, it's pretty fun to watch
War Z 4½ / 10
Dr Strangelove 93/100 Perfect casting and satirization. I especially loved the character of Mandrake.
I actualy wouldn't rate the shawshank redemption that high. Sure the ending is brilliant but the film's just too slow. It'd be a 6.5/7 out of 10

Transformers get's a 3 from me. i'm a comedy fan above all else. Horrors and thrillers are dull and predictable, Action's/romances are only realy good if they're spiced with with comedy.
are you a real person? especially the action part. comedy action films are the worst things ever
if you mean action films with "funny" stuff out of the blue just for the sake of it then yes, but there's quite a few that actually do it right
Source Code Such a cool concept and cool execution, but that ending... I don't know what to rate it because of that ending. (Spoilers - a bit of the content but mostly my opinion)[sp]It seems like it was forced by higher-ups, seeing as there is a perfect ending spot (after the kiss, time stops, camera shows everyone stuck in that moment, fade to black) but then it goes on for a few more minutes so you can see for sure that everyone lives happily ever after sunshine and roses etc[/sp]
Rango 8/10 Good mix of serious and humorous. I loved how kids could enjoy it and they still put in some more mature humor that adults would find hilarious. Kind of enjoyed the slightly more mature aspect in an animated film too.
are you a real person? especially the action part. comedy action films are the worst things ever
I tend to be one of those people who predicts everything from even the tiniest hints. All the possible motives for a character, all his possible plans... and thus i tend to know every possible scenario which could happen 80% of the time. Not like "...and then there's going to be a fistfight at a trainstation in which character B says "praise be the bounty of the inequities of our glorious lord" of something shitty like that. More like "these two are going to be a couple... that guy's behind that plot... He does that because... that's going to happen because.. If that doesn't happen then there are 6 alternatives that i've figured out..." I wish i could shut myself off but i can't. That said- i could never understand how the gang came to any of their conclusions in scooby doo. so i like comedies because they're unpredictable (if they're any good)

rush hour 2
^Electronic i've seen even less than you there, yet i'd say most of them are action. Being a satire doesn't realy make a difference, does it? I'd add django unchained too. That movie is one of my favourites.
Pineapple Express - Action? Not really 21 Jump Street - Action? Not really The Blues Brothers - Action?
All of these have action sequences, it's just that they're played for laughs.
are you a real person? especially the action part. comedy action films are the worst things ever
uhhh lethal weapon kick ass snatch, sort of tropic thunder men in black if thats your thing [editline]31st July 2013[/editline] and how does a movie being a satire change anything?
The Worlds End - 6/10 It had it's funny moments, wasn't a great story though.
I've never seen Shawshank yet. I've always wondered if it really deserves #1 on IMDB.
It doesn't because it has it by accident. If I recall correctly, after premiere of The Dark Knight fanboys of DC and Batman started to lower ratings of then top #1 and #2 movie - Godfather and Godfather II, and some others highly noted films. It worked for about a day and TDK got first place. Quickly it was balanced and since then Shawshank Redemption is first - because it wasn't downvoted so much.
Year One 6,5/10 C'mon it wasn't that bad, laughed out loud a bunch of times.
Year One 6,5/10 C'mon it wasn't that bad, laughed out loud a bunch of times.
It was pretty cheap and it worked, but not that great.
Brazil Terry Gilliam is a bit like marmite, you either love him or hate him. Whilst I didn't enjoy his film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas I still was able to understand its importance and genius. Based on this I watched Brazil with an open mind. Halfway in I realised this was a collection of loosely connected scenes leading to absolutely nowhere. The entire team must have been on LSD to make something so incoherant. It was the most painful 2 hours I've spent in front of a screen. The sets were made of plastic, the story just randomly turned at 90 degrees and the characters didn't make me give a shit how things worked out. We craved the end credits so we could regain our sanity.
oh the things people will start to say when you keep banning them ya love me now ya hate me
Oh I was a big fan of your style of moderation because you never reached for the banhammer if somebody said something you didn't like. I just happen to post that I didn't feel comfortable around homosexuals, thats 'comfortable' not 'I fucking hate them' quite a massive difference there and you brand me a right wing, homophobic, racist, hate monger. Should I brand you a left wing, sandal wearing hippie who screams victim behind a pear of round rimmed spectacles? Would that be a presumptuous generalisation? Maybe I'll just call you a pedo, not that I've any reason to do so but because it makes me feel like I have a moral high ground based on mere personal egomania. Grow up. Brave - 7/10 It was pretty good. The pacing felt a bit strange. Great animation.
Bullet to the Head Pretty standard flick, adds nothing new to the formula, but hey it's still rather enjoyable. 7/10

Eh, to be honest i don't quite feel comfortable around hetrosexuals. Nor whites, let alone humans. *people scare me* the worlds end is only a 6? That's grave news.
