The reason Cyclops had a really shitty death is because he went and did Superman Returns and had scheduling conflicts
Which is not good because although X-men 3 wasn't very good it was definitely better than Superman Returns. Man that film was bad. just so fuckin dull.

Stupid decision IMO for the guy to do that role in Superman Returns but maybe he didn't have much of a choice because of Singer or something. Oh well, Cyclops wasn't done well at all in the previous movies anyway.
Also Marsden isn't coming back for DOFP
It is literally one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
But I enjoyed it, and that was all that matters. Really, my low standards for movies helps me enjoy almost all of them. Personal taste?
Beaches (1988) - 6/10.
About two women who met as young girls and agreed to write letters to each other throughout life as they each experience it.
Fucking fuck this film had so much potential but I blame the fucking 80s for giving it that 80s feel that every film made in the 80s has. Instead of being a great film like it could've been it was just a very okay one I mean goddammit I'm so disappointed. I'd definitely love to see a remake of this with Renee Zellweger and Angelina Jolie since they're the right ages now for these kinds of roles or at least a thousand page novel adaptation that can do the characters justice.
Fuck I'll have to see it again to solidify my disappoint don't ask me why.
I wonder if, 10 or 20 years in the future, people will be looking back at movies in the 00's and 10's like "that's so dated". Maybe they might get annoyed with current cinematography? Our most terrifying horrors become comedies and our comedies ,dumb as they are now, become highbrow humour that most of the audience won't understand.

I disagree. I like how their aliens actually had a motivation and character and weren't just stupid incompetent killing machines like in Independence Day or Battle LA or Cowboys and Aliens. The actions scenes were top notch too.
Literally the only not cringe worthy thing about battleship was the CONCEPT of the aliens and like 2 scenes where the boats were firing off all their guns other wise it was a very horrible movie, especially if you have any knowledge of the Navy at all :v:

I agree with the part about the aliens but I thought the action scenes were pretty damn boring. The only cool scenes were the ones with those huge beyblade things.

And literally every other aspect of the movie was woeful.
Shut Up Little Man!- 7/10
A documentary about the "Shut up little man!" tapes that became popular in the 80s and 90s. does a pretty good job of telling the story from the perspectives of everyone involved, talks a lot about the legality of the entire thing(which is pretty interesting to try and figure out). However at the end it kind of dragged on a bit, and it's not the kind of documentary I'd want to watch again to better understand the subject.
engaging movie to watch with parents possibly without too much gore/sex?

A Serbian Film
As I don't trust Rotten Tomatoes critics meter (I mean they gave Iron Man 3 a 78 and Man of Steel a 56), I trust the audience meter more. But I need a true opinion, I am planning to watch the sequel to Gettysburg, Gods and Generals but by the looks on RT it was critically savaged by critics. But the audience gives it a warm rating, is it alright per say or just plain garbage?

What about watching the movie anyways and formulating an opinion for yourself?

I dunno man RT is usually fairly accurate.

I don't like to sit through movies without anticipating some cons about it. I mean Iron Man 3, everyone said it was good. I didn't look at any of the reviews, so I assumed it would be great. It was really a awful experience to sit through. I should of read the reviews, so that is why I like to know what to anticipate in a film.
Same goes with Man of Steel, people were saying it was average. I'd assume it would be that. Then I was wrong again, it was superior to Iron Man 3 and perhaps best superhero movie of the year.
Iron Man 3... it was really a awful experience to sit through.
The only thing that's awful is your grammar. Iron Man 3 is good.
Mud - 8/10
once again i have been misguided by a trailer. great movie all around even if i had expected something alot different nearing the end.
Great performances all around especially Tye sheridan (the kid Ellis) and Matthew McConaughey, who plays such a great character so well, cant not love him
Got back from seeing Elysium with my dad and a friend.
Fookin' 9/10, Sharlto's Kruger was fucking disgusting and I loved it.
The only thing that's awful is your grammar. Iron Man 3 is good.
It was a 'good' [sp]average[/sp] standalone movie. But a awful Iron Man movie, especially in terms of lets say
-Making comic fans cry by savaging a [sp] iconic comic character as a drunk british actor [/sp]. Especially when you fucking hire a good actor to play him and promote him as the 'main villain'
-The human torch plot thing
- [sp]Tony spends most of the time in the movie trying to repair his suit, when he has a remote controlled suit army the whole time[/sp]
- The ending
- The disappointment of a villains death when a supporting female protagonist kills him instead of the main hero (on par to Dark Knight Rises) [/sp]
- The kid sidekick (cliche time)

-Not enough Don Cheadle
I just hated Iron Man III with a passion, it was a terrible start for Marvel's Phase 2 and I hope they don't fuck up Thor either. In my opinion, Superman has easily beat the shit out of Tony Stark this year. Man of Steel wins
So basically it's a great movie unless you're a comic book nerd. Also the kid sidekick was a parody and the villain twist was brilliant.
no it still sucked. it was a bad film. iron man 1 and the avengers are the only decent films in that universe.
here we go again

Big Trouble in Little China

Michael Clayton
- The kid sidekick (cliche time)

to be fair, they did get rid of him as soon as things got serious

Elysium - 4/10
If you actually give enough shits as to why, you can read my review on the thread.
Elysium - 7/10
Great concept and audio/visual presentation with some fairly strong acting, but the whole story was far too by-the-book for the film to be truly 'great,' in my opinion, and the villains felt like comic-book levels of evil with too little characterization.

But I liked Captain America though

Just got back from it and these are pretty much my exact thoughts. It was a very well-crafted sci-fi action film which I think is pretty rare, but the characters were all super one-dimensional and the story was pretty predictable and the "moral of the story" wasn't as subtle as I think it wanted to be
