Game of Bones first 2 episodes of first season
boobies/10
no seriously, it's really well acted and quite interesting. I've head that it starts slowly, but I don't think so, seems pretty good so far.

They're good... but i think they're rather insulting towards the books which are 141581 times better.

that's often the case when books get adapted to the screen. but I always look at them as if they were completely separate things.
can we not discuss tv shows in here? there are threads for them
is the movie spin-off for In The Thick of It superior to the show?

I prefer the show but In The Loop is still really funny.

Then you'll moan about documentary discussion too, it's not as though it's taking up the entire thread.

Documentaries are fine, it's just shows like Game Of Thrones and Breaking Bad have their own seperate threads.
The Blair Witch Project
This is a movie that is legitimately scary without using a single jump scare or monster or gore of any kind. Apart from one scene of a tooth this movie relies solely on atmosphere and it's characters to create fear. The scariest scenes are usually totally black, which is a testament to how well crafted it is. Jay from RLM said that it is a movie about people unravelling and that's true. Even without the supernatural element this movie would still be very unnerving.
Some people write this movie off because they say it makes no sense but that isn't entirely the case. The ending is explained by one of the interviews at the start of the movie but the rest is left to your imagination, which is exactly what makes it so scary. If you really do want to know everything then there is a very well made mockumentary (The Curse of the Blair Witch) which sheds a lot of light on the events of the movie.
Only movie that legit scares me 9/10
Yes but we don't rate them there, we discuss them.
I don't really see how it harms or offends you to see posts about them. Is it that hard to just scroll through them?
Most tv shows aren't realy popular enough to warrant their own thread (at least not on these forums) I can understand a problem with Game of thrones or The walking dead. But i'd never complain if someone brought up Naruto or Dads army or something which probably wouldn't have a large following on facepunch. Even if they probably have huge forums on other sites.
I'd actually recommend Naruto.I initially avoided it because it looked childish and i thought watching japanese cartoons could make me like them Some of the early arks could be considered total shit and some of the characters get on your nerves but you'l be hooked so long as you skip the fillers. First tv series to make me cry and the overarching plot is amazing. 9/10 without fillers. 2 out of 10 with filler episodes (skip them). I turned away from dad's army pretty fast though. Just shows how grown up i am (...not at all)
Breaking Bad Season 4: 10/10
Holy fucking shit what a conclusion.

The show isn't insulting towards the source at all, I'd say it's a pretty fantastic adaptation so far.
Once upon a time in America
i fell asleep halfway through/10
not really but it was terribly uninteresting
Versus - 3/10
The hilariously shitty English dub is what kept me watching.
The Wolverine
I liked it. It's nothing extraordinary, but it's fun and well made. At least it does justice to the character, unlike origins. I'd say it's nothing more and nothing less than what you would expect. 7.5/10
I just finally watched Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me after putting it off for so long, fucking hell.
I'm completely emotionally drained.
I'm not not sure whether or not I liked it, I mean... I don't feel like it was a waste of time to watch but it also wasn't enjoyable either.
How can anyone truly enjoy a film about [/sp]rape and incest[sp]?
My major critique with it is that it didn't feel like Twin Peaks, like... at all... not even a little bit.
I'd say it was much, much darker than the show ever was.
And also my other problem is that what few characters they brought back really didn't seem like their show counter-parts, Donna being recast with a plank of wood didn't help matters any and Coop's minimal presence is actually understandable save for the opening investigation scenes.
I really can't believe that some people saw the movie without having seen the series first, I mean, it doesn't help it make much more sense but it sure puts a lot of events in perspective.
Christ, I can't even give it a score.

Deadpool was ruined in Origins
Just got back from Elysium.

Not as good as D9, but man, that Kruger knew how to stay face.

Why are you bias against tv shows
Alien 10/10
[t]http://www.impawards.com/1979/posters/alien.jpg[/t]
First time watching it, man was it good. It shares a lot of themes with The Thing that I really liked - the blue-collar, everyday working man cast, the extreme tension and claustrophobia, the terrifying, inhuman monster (I am aware that Alien came out first). Also there's some fantastic practical effects, including the brilliant design of the titular alien; I really like the analog, low-tech industrial feel of the ship, including the detailed exterior shots. Great, great stuff.
I'm seeing Aliens this weekend with a friend - it'll be interesting to compare.
like someone stated already, if it's a tv show that doesnt even have a thread i think it makes sense, but why come here to rate a show like breaking bad while there's a really active thread in the subforum?

Maybe it's a cardinal sin but over the years, I grew to love Carpenter's The Thing more than Alien. I just felt The Thing did a better job at coming up with a terrifying creature and better characters. Alien is a great film though dont get me wrong but when I feel like watching a movie about a bunch of people stuck in an isolated place which also has a horrifying alien creature, I'd go with The Thing.

Or maybe I watched Alien too many times.
I couldn't help but wonder what if the Nostromo was manned by the crew of US Outpost 31
