My favorite HBO series of ever. Only series I own on Blu-Ray, love it to death. The ending makes me tear up a bit every time I see it.

Also the book is amazing too, check that out if you haven't.
yeah i started the book a little while ago, they did a good job of staying faithful to it
im also amazed at the amount of scumbag officers they have, seems like fick is the only decent one
the one tall captain and his little lap dog was literally infuriating to watch
Going to the movies soon, wondering what the top three choices are?
I think I'm stuck between Kick Ass 2 and Elysium.
see them all
Elysium
Kick-Ass 2
The World's End
This is Spinal Tap: 5/5
Can't believe I haven't seen this before. Good film.
So, I took it upon myself out of boredom to marathon the Rambo series.

First Blood - 8/10
Without a doubt the best of the entire series, and I kind of wish they hadn't continued the series after this. I would love to see a remake that stays to the novel more, and keeps the original ending in.

Rambo: First Blood Part II - 8/10
This is it right here, the birth of the stereotypical action movie. The only question I asked myself repeatedly was "how can this get any crazier"? Sure enough, it does just that. Still enjoyable though.

Rambo III - 7/10
I think they should have left the series on this high note, and it was nice for the series to take a more personal note on Rambo's character, showing that he does have a human side to him after all.
One thing is for sure, the end credits songs to these three movies are quite awful. Lyrics aren't bad, but with the music and when it's all sung, good god does it get hammy.

Rambo - 6/10
Too short imo. The action is great and the gore is A+. Other than that, the entire movie literally has no purpose.
Also, the cartoon show is still kickass.
Open Range 10/10 - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0316356/
A former gunslinger is forced to take up arms again when he and his cattle crew are threatened by a corrupt lawman.
Boss Spearman, Charley Waite, Mose Harrison and Button freegraze their cattle across the vast prairies of the West, sharing a friendship forged by a steadfast code of honor and living a life unencumbered by civilization. When their wayward herd forces them near the small town of Harmonville, the cowboys encounter a corrupt sheriff and kingpin rancher who govern the territory through fear, tyranny and violence. Boss and Charley find themselves inextricably drawn towards an inevitable showdown, as they are forced to defend the freedom and values of a lifestyle that is all too quickly vanishing. Amidst the turmoil, life suddenly takes an unexpected turn for the loner Charley when he meets the beautiful and warm spirited Sue Barlow, a woman who embraces both his heart and his soul.
A really well made western movie, directed by Kevin Costner.

Open Range is one of my all time favorite films. The gunfight at the end is just spectacular.

There's a reason Guns and Ammo rated it number #1.
Robert Duvall is literally the bee's knees

I loved the first Rambo, and hated Rambo II so much that I didn't bother with watching the rest of the series. It just lacked the human side that the first one was all about.

Quite right you are
First Blood Part II is to First Blood as Aliens is to Alien
However Rambo III makes up for that loss.
Alien 3 doesn't imo, it tried and failed.

First Blood was a great movie and it was definitely not the typical sweaty shirtless man action macho movie people seem to remember Rambo for. That was Rambo II. The first movie only has one death and it barely has any major glorification of soldiers, violence, guns and war.
If anything, it just goes to show that those things make someone a very confused, lonely and angry man like John Rambo. Of course, the later movies changed all that.

I still hold that the Assembly Cut fixes everything.
I still hold that the Assembly Cut fixes everything.
That still can't fix the damage Alien 3 did to Aliens
The first movie only has one death.
what?
a good number of folks died in first blood, even more in the novel.
Death Becomes Her.
....
This movie brain my killed.
4/-7

What? I know about the novel but seriously only one person was killed by Rambo in First Blood.

hmm
i should rewatch first blood
and just because it's such a great film.
Since we're all on the topic of Rambo, it appears that they're going to make a TV show out of him.

Forest Gump, seen it before but decide to watch it again.
I don't have much to say about it that people haven't already said before since it's one of those universally loved movies except by a few people (and probably rusty but w/e), but oh man, it was written just to plug on your heart strings just enough at the exact right times, and it threw in a ton of nice historical references that anyone could at least spot a few. One of the best movies I've ever seen.
10/10

Hmm, so we don't know when the Rambo TV series will be taking place. Maybe after Rambo(4)? Or maybe between 3 and 4?
Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they made a tv series about Rambo during his Green Beret/Vietnam War days.
Speaking of new things, any news about that Robocop remake?

I expect the quality of the TV series to be something along the lines of:

Is that the Rambo videogame?
Is that the Rambo videogame?
Yeah, with its cutting edge modern generation graphics as you can clearly see

according to that article sly is in talks of taking up the role
meaning after rambo 4
Lord Of War 9/10, one the darkest films I've seen in a while, probably Nicholas Cages best performance
Star Trek Into Darkness - 8/10
Man of Tai Chi
Great direction, spectacular fight scenes, awesome music. Dumb plot, and terrible script.
Worth a watch if you love martial arts movies.
I didn't realise Keanu directed it either until the end credits. Dude can direct a film. He just needs to find some better writers
Upstream Color - 8/10
My brain hurts significantly less than it did from Primer. Really different films. I definitely enjoyed this one, hard to say which was better. I feel that in Primer the storyline was quite hard to follow but once you uncovered it you sort of understood the film.
With this I followed the storyline straight away, though i don't think i full understood the film. There were just some few elements that confuse me and I'll have to look into it.
I liked it.
Scenic Route - 8/10
Josh Duhamel and Dan Fogler are two friends who get stuck in the middle of Death Valley as their car breaks down, and they start to criticize each other's life choices leading to unexpected consequences.
The two leads very much carry the film as they're the really the only characters on screen at any given moment, and they both give very good performances. If you like the 'stranded' genre of thriller/horror movies then definitely check this film out.

Even though I prefer Upstream, Primer is one heck of a mindbending film, it's so very technical that it's a lot more than the films plot suggests.
