Shame - 9/10 i want more fassbender
Godzilla I hadn't seen this movie since it was released but even so I was surprised at how little I remembered of it. Probably because it was so unnecessarily long; 80% of this two hour movie is drama bullshit with only a handful of scenes actually featuring Godzilla himself. When he does show up it's really hit & miss with the effects, some shots were laughably bad while others looked pretty good. Speaking of laughably bad, Matthew Broderick's performance was just that. Why he was cast in this movie is beyond me. I guess he's got the nerdy biologist look but that counts for nothing when you're a shit actor. The characters in general were shit too, I didn't care about a single one of them apart from maybe the professional. Overall it was bad and I kept wanting it to end but it just kept going and going but then it did end and I was happy for it.

I haven't let them.
Moonrise Kingdom - 10/10 October Sky - 10/10 Amélie - 10/10 All must see movies. The World's End - 7/10 - While Hot Fuzz and Shawn of the Dead felt different from each other this one felt like just a combination of the two of them..
Fantastic Mr. Fox - 8/10 Nice stop-motion movie that had a cool concept and delivered. There weren't really any highlights in the movie that stood out, but overall it was surprisingly funny and quirky. However, there were a bunch of little things at the end of the movie that were pretty "ehhh" but I don't think enough people care to bother typing it out. I can definitely recommend it to people who want to watch a movie with a younger siblings because it's really innocent and cute but it has enough adult humor to enjoy as well. [editline]25th August 2013[/editline] Also looking at pictures and posters of the film make it look really creepy, but it's really not at all when it's moving.
Now you see me - 6.5/10
Upstream Color - 7/10 I liked it. Maybe it's just because I was tired.
A Better Tomorrow (2010 remake): 4/10 Nowhere near as good as the original and IMO as a remake, this film really didn't offer anything good. Only watch it if you're bored and/or curious how the Koreans handled this remake of a John Woo classic.
Forrest Gump 10/10 I've seen it a million times and still love it. One of my favorites if not my ultimate favorite movie. I've always thought it was weird how skinny and young he looked in that one but then looked so old and fat in Castaway 3 years later
Fargo 8.5/10 Man what a trainwreck.
Iron Man 3 - 8/10... I don't understand the hate that this seems to get on these forums, I thought it was a pretty great sequel with a hilarious twist.
So I just watched Battleship since we had it at my grandmas and it was either that or cars, so I bit the bullet and watched Battleship. Like, part of me really wants to like the movie. There were a few, and I mean FEW, scenes that were kind of neat. Nothing super spectacular, but just fun to watch. On the other hand, I couldn't get it out of my head the whole way through that what I was watching was a dumb movie. Everything about it was dumb more or less. I can't think of many redeeming things about it aside from that handful of scenes. I can't say I didn't enjoy watching it, but I also can't say it was anything like a decent movie. I don't know. 5.5/10?? Idk
You're Next - 7/10 It starts off very predictable and cliché like any other shitty jumpscare-horror movies with bad dialogue. the cast feels very weak and acting is almost awkward at times, so I already sort of gave hope on it. BUT THEN about halfway through the film, it really starts. like as if the director purposely made the movie bad and poorly developed these characters just to make fun of it all and before i knew it suddenly i was watching a horror comedy that felt a bit like evil dead out of place music, funny reactions of characters reacting to horrific things, stupid/funny dialogues. my biggest problem would be that the actual fun part of the movie when things go crazy is way too short compared to the boring half to 3/4th of the movie or so and also how much different they are from each other all in all its a fun movie and definitely worth seeing if you're looking for something new in horror movies
The thing I loved about this movie was the fact that it never took itself seriously, you're not supposed to feel bad when any of the characters get brutally murdered, that's the best part. Not to mention it was fucking hilarious. if you're into slasher films and pitch black humor then you'll like this movie, just don't go into it expecting a serious horror film. [editline]26th August 2013[/editline] The opening scene isn't great but It really picked up once they brought out the crossbow.
Super 8 - 7/10 I was pleasantly surprised by it. Usually I hate kids in movies especially when they are the main characters, but I really liked them in this movie. I also liked how the [sp]alien isn't really shown properly until they enter its cave.[/sp]
5.5 would suggest it is an above average movie. Battleship and above average do not compute.
IGN scale or w/e 5 isnt the average for
The weird thing about sci fi's is that i always think that they should probably have Droids who are so accurate that they're more lethal than a terrorist with an aimbot. Granted most sci fi's would rather have dumbfired plasma bolts and blaster shots, or robots who can't aim but use miniguns as an attempt to compensate but i suppose that's more fun to fantasize about. ...And then you've got battleship in which they're running around with fucking knives
IGN scale or w/e 5 isnt the average for
You mean this [editline]26th August 2013[/editline] also this more exaggerated one
ok ok let me guess ak'z is gonna see this and say "but guys ratings dont matter!"
I don't see why "GOTY" is better than "realy good"
ok ok let me guess ak'z is gonna see this and say "but guys ratings dont matter!"
ak'z sux id give him 7/10
Godfather 9.5/10 Really amazing movie. The only thing I don't like about this movie is the cheesy death of [sp]Vito(Godfather)[/sp]
I use ratings because I suck at reviewing movies.
I use ratings because I suck at reviewing movies.
It doesn't have to be a review just say what you liked and what you didn't like.
ok ok let me guess ak'z is gonna see this and say "but guys ratings dont matter!"
and then Rusty comes in and says "sorry but you're next was an unwatchable piece of shit" [sp]that or he'll respond to my comment saying he actually liked it[/sp]
Iron Man 3 - 8/10... I don't understand the hate that this seems to get on these forums, I thought it was a pretty great sequel with a hilarious twist.
I only didn't like the twist because [sp]Guy Pearce Mandarin didn't get as much screen time as The Mandarin[/sp]. Other than that, it was ingenious.
Now You See Me I enjoyed watching it, but it's undeniably badly written and tries too hard to be smarter than it actually is. I didn't like the ending twist either. It's confusing at times, the pace is far too fast and messy but there are some cool moments like the magic trick - fight scene. I'd say 6/10 because it had some good ideas and overall was quite fun.
ghost rider spirit of vengeance what/10 i was hoping it would be better. the new look of the ghost rider was better and cage was infinitely crazier but man did that suck. at least idris elba and christopher lambert were enjoyable.
I still believe that the tone of Ghost Rider should never be fully dark and brooding. IMO Ghost Rider works best when it's a mix of action, fantasy, surrealism, horror and comedy. Kinda like Evil Dead 2. Spirit of Vengeance was a bit like that but the script was mostly crap.
I think it felt like they didn't go crazy enough, to the point where the crazier scenes were a mix of "wow this is insane and awesome" and "why did they go crazy out of nowhere then go back to normal" [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] so basically they should've went all out, screaming-nic-cage style craziness, it was the guys from Crank after all. The pg-13 rating kinda limited them though
