I think we should stop making jokes. Let's wait for the dust to settle first ;)
A wild Haiti appeared! Dugtrio used EARTHQUAKE! IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE! I'm sorry I couldn't help myself.
I hate to say it, but I can't seem to muster up any sympathy. The population needs culling anyway. Edit: Maybe the US will arrive to "save the day" and drink up all of their oil and not find any WMDs.
Or maybe they will send relief supplies and medical staff as they have been doing V:v:v
I'm annoyed they can't help themselves the good ol' USA comes and gives all our shit away.
People who bash the US are starting to annoy me, It's not like we are there for any of their resources what-so-ever. It's the best thing to do as a country is to help another country no matter how poor they are or rich they are it's just the human thing to do is be courteous. Just like if something god forbid happened similiar to this in california other countries would send relief. Just because we make mistakes doesn't mean we don't have hearts, and no matter how much you think your own country won't send money and aid workers i can promise you they would.
I'm sorry, good sir, but you seem to not understand the world at all. Rich countries do not do these things out of the goodness of their hearts.
I'm sorry, good sir, but you seem to not understand the world at all. Rich countries do not do these things out of the goodness of their hearts.
You sir are a jackass. It's the HUMAN thing to do. what the fuck is in that country that the US can possibly want? nothing.
I'm sorry, good sir, but you seem to not understand the world at all. Rich countries do not do these things out of the goodness of their hearts.
You're right we're bastards. All we want to do is partake in haiti's vast riches, and this is how we get our foot in the door. :downs: Sure, sure, it's to improve our image to the rest of the world. The underlying goals are heinous and evil and we are just wolves in sheeps clothing. Do not be fooled by such false concepts as empathy and compassion! Down with america, the dark empire! Alleviating others' pain for our own advancement!
You sir are a jackass. It's the HUMAN thing to do. what the fuck is in that country that the US can possibly want? nothing.
A good reputation.
Don't bananas mostly come from Haiti? I hope not, because I love bananas. :sigh:
A good reputation.
Well of course, what i'm just trying to say is there is no good reason the us would want to rule or take control there. The reason they are sending soldiers i can tell you now is the same reason they were sent to Katrina was to prevent looting and other shit from going down.
And nothing of value was lost. Why do people care? It's a shit hole. It doesn't matter if some people die, they weren't important.
They weren't important to YOU. But their families thought they were pretty damn important. Don't act like you're the only one in the world.
I hope Arthur the weatherman is okay... :ohdear: Seriously though, I hope this doesn't turn out making Haiti worse.
Apparently the US of A is sending two thousand Marines. Time for me to write a letter to Harper pressuring him to send the boys and girls in DART (Disaster Assistance and Response Team)
US has also given 100,000,000 dollars in aid, and we are getting our hospital ship up and ready to serve thousands. The ship can deal with any medical situation you can throw at it. Equipped with thousands of rooms, hundreds of ORs and just about anything else you can find in a real hospital, except at sea. As far as I know, Canada has given 50 million.
I'm sorry, good sir, but you seem to not understand the world at all. It's people like you that make everyone think the US is a shitty country.
I think Haiti should just become an unincorporated part of the United States. There is no way they can recover from this by themselves without the help of another country. If some of you don't know, Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and United States Virgin Islands are all parts of the United States, but are not states and are governed independently. But Haiti is incapable of governing itself, for most of it's major leaders cannot even be found. But I don't really feel strongly toward this. I do realize there isn't much purpose for us there. It will just cost us a lot of money. What does everyone else think?
My friend's in Haiti visiting his family members. :( I hope he's okay.
My mom thinks it happened in france. what the fuck.
I think the mother-tongue there is French actually.

It's carrying 3/4 of its maximum weight of medical supplies, food, water, cooking kits, probably tents and building material. Not to mention the giant boat is a huge morale booster for anyone who can see it. Sea power rocks.
Look at this image. To the right is the Dominican Republic, which is full of green and life. To the left is Haiti, which basically destroyed what little life it had for simple cooking fuel.
Needs special forces incase of a coup de'tat.
We're lucky this earthquake didn't cause a tsunami.
It's fascinating how people can survive in such filth. (pre earthquake by the way)
It's also got a nuclear power plant. Which you'd think they would be able to route power the the shore with...
It isn't designed to do that, and it wouldn't do any good anyway because the power lines are down. :downs:
It's fascinating how people can survive in such filth.
Yep. Haiti is one of the poorest countries on the planet. This is why I think we really need to just put Haiti into the hands of the United States. Bangladesh is the poorest country by the way.
I'm sorry, good sir, but you seem to not understand the world at all. Rich countries do not do these things out of the goodness of their hearts.
Have a little more faith in humanity.
It isn't designed to do that, and it wouldn't do any good anyway because the power lines are down. :downs:
Not really to power the city's power, I doubt they had much to begin with. It would be useful though to power the Airport and all the staging areas for the Relief effort.
It's also got a nuclear power plant. Which you'd think they would be able to route power the the shore with...
It's not staying there long enough to do that to the point it would make a difference, I think last I heard its staying for a week at the VERY most.
I hope the US stays out of it, we have our own problems and I don't see why we constantly have to do things in other countries. All the money that goes to disaster relief and food for poor third world countries could be used to pick up our own economy.
It's a shit awful situation down there. Humanitarian-wise anyway.
