Okay, I know this sort of doesn't relate, but I really [B]really[/B] want to know what the moderators do for a living now. Like age range and jobs, not out of persecution reasons but because they were interesting enough people to become mods. I mean, doesn't that mean Garry hangs out with you and you guys get icecream and holds hands and sometimes he lets you do stuff but only sometimes when he's in the mood and stuff and I know it's true because BDA told me so in a PM a long time ago I can't show the message it was 2 long ago so don't ask but I know all this is is is true!

Honestly, the moderators aren't that bad here. We should go back to 05/06/07 Facepunch when even posting a thread in the wrong forum would result in a permaban. We had less dumbasses and higher quality threads. (Aside from Fast threads, that's always been shit)
General Discussion had great content though.

I've been on forums where the moderation was to the point that saying anything bad about the forum got you a swift ban, and they had a rule which said that "if it was necessary", they would skip all the regular bans and go straight to perma/IP bans - and more often than not they'd use this rule because they were too lazy to deal with them properly. It was a small forum and those that weren't permabanned had the mods' cocks wedged so far up their ass that they turned a blind eye to it.
TBH this forum has some of the best mods I've seen.
ok, some do bad sometimes, like the many banning sprees in sensationalist headlines and lmao pics, but honestly, I haven't seen any extreme moderation outside of those two sections of FP. Even then, problems like this have only occurred in the last few months or so, I haven't seen anything at all like this before.

Honestly, Facepunch has some of the most personable mods I have ever seen. Most if not all of them are willing to talk about their reasoning behind anything they do, and best of all, you can actually have a conversation with them as an equal, rather than as a fearful subject. You can argue or disagree with them, and you won't get banned as long as you stand within the rules, and I think that is key to having a healthy community. The mods are a part of that community, and each one is iconic and recognizable in their own way.
They aren't faceless authority figures who come into threads to inspire fear or for the single purpose of demonstrating the extent of their power. And to me at least, it seems like they are just trying to help out. So even if I disagree with them I try and at least be respectful, because I know that all of the mods are doing a lot to keep the quality of this forum as high as it is.
(This is of course coming from someone who has never been banned, and has never had any sort of conflict of interest with a mod here, so I probably don't have much perspective compared to a lot of you. I've only been around since '10 though, so feel free to call me out about things, because there is probably a lot I don't know.)
The only bad mod is MaxOfS2D
you know just because the modding was worse years ago doesn't mean we don't have the right to complain about it now
