Got around to listening to mewithoutYou's new album, Ten Stories. It's good, I wasn't blown away but it's good. They sort of combined their older sound with elements of post-hardcore with their poppy folk sound that they adopted on their last album, it works out well. The "concept" is a nice addition but it doesn't really capture my attention or really seem any more "complete" than themes on their older albums. If you're a fan I say definitely pick it up because there's some cool songs but if you're expecting this to be on the level of any of their first 3 albums then you'll be disappointed. If you haven't listened to them before, this is not a good place to start. Start with any of their first 3 albums. Verdict: 7.5/10, falls just short of their old albums but still delivers classic mewithoutYou. The Proclaimers have just released their new album ''Like Comedy'', I can't seem to find the album artwork anywhere. It's terrifying.
oh my, this is gorgeous.
So excited for that new Passion Pit album. It's been too long since 'Manners'.
oh my, this is gorgeous.
eh, they haven't really evolved their sound at all after three albums. i enjoy them to an extent but it can get boring fast.
Got the record store day single, it's great. Definitely got to pick this up
It's a LOT different from his last album, which was kind of slow folky kind of stuff, which is actually one of my favourite records of the last few years. This one is definitely work checking out though. [editline]9th May 2012[/editline]
this worth hearing?
I listened to this too, it's pretty stellar. It's Beach House by the way.
Well I didn't know that was available either, no one tells me these things. Gonna listen to it now since Beach House is great. [editline]9th May 2012[/editline] And it's long overdue but I'll finally check this out today
Recently, Shuggie Otis was heard in an exclusive radio interview claiming his extremely long-awaited fourth album (as yet untitled) will be released sometime in 2012 on his own recording label. It is rumored to feature all original compositions written from 1975 to the present, including live material from some of his rare performances.
you must be shitting me. :v:
I hope to hell these guys come out with an album.
awesome to the max. Not really, but a pretty smooth little record, lots of immersive electronic repetition and something I'll revisit.
status report on the new xx album: its not out yet frankly thats not ok
will listen to: Portico Quartet's self titled. I saw one person here rate it, think it was Drax Quin.
'Waoh' is that a self-titled album that's not the debut? (I know it's happened before.)
Just heard the new Drudkh album, boring as hell as predicted. On the other hand, i'd personally regard Aborted's Global Flatline as a bit of a return to form.

I've been meaning to give them a proper listen for a while.
