Reagan is as of now my favorite song of 2012
There is a shitload of buzz about the new fiona apple. I'll definitely pick that up soon
Yeah, I like it a lot. Although I've been a fan of hers for quite a while now and I have to say it's a lot darker and depressive than her other stuff. I'm almost put off by her intensity, not really, but it's a big difference in feeling for me. She's changed a lot.
I've never actually heard any of her stuff, I checked out one song and liked it, but she definitely seems like an artist worth exploring
give her "When The Pawn" album a listen. It's brilliant.
Has anyone heard of Tech N9ne? I just found out about this guy and I kinda like it.

Looks painful, but the music is pretty damn good. Lana Del Ray shows up and delivers her sweet voice over this nice thick rhythm. The whole album feels different to your average modern soul record, it is more electronic in how the rhythms are made. Pretty good if you ask me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also Jack White's Blunderbuss is superb imo. I listened to it after listening to The Band and it blended in with the mood I was in. Superb.

I try, but it feels as though it's gonna break if I do it. :(

eaststrikewest - We're Important And We Keep The City Running. We're Important. We're Important. We're Important. http://oxidetones.bandcamp.com/album/were-important-and-we-keep-the-city-running-were-important-were-important-were-important "eaststrikewest were a six piece band from Essex. ‘We’re important and we keep the city running. We’re important, we’re important, we’re important…’ was their sophomore release. Debut album ‘wolvves’ was well received by the music press and fans alike. Tours followed with the likes of This Will Destroy You and Junius as well as festival appearances at the likes of Hevy and Rhythms of the World. In the highly combustible studio environment, eaststrikewest imploded before the album was mixed. ‘We’re Important…’ was finalised by Jason Sanderson. Deemed too good to not be heard by the general public, this heady mix of lofty ambition, anxiety and sharply honed creativity serves as a befitting eulogy to the band that was eaststrikewest. An album full of surprises, eaststrikewest excel at doing the unexpected. An 8 track release, eaststrikewest flex their muscles in every aspect. Blending Post rock with indie, alternative with classic, vocals and instrumentals, you could think that the album be bound to fail, however the variety in aspects is executed extremely well. Each track sounds whole, and each instrument has its place within the tracks. The vocals add an hint of edginess, the strings add delicacy, which could have seemed at a juxtapose to the monolithic rhthyms, but the resulting tracks are ones that will have you turning the volume up and tapping your feet with an inner fury."
Deltron Event II coming out in September!
Well I suppose now would be a good time to finally listen to Deltron 3030 then.

Purity Ring? It sounds good so far.
quick question, what is purity ring and how are they so sought after when they haven't released an album? I'm guessing a youtube video popularity.
Yeah, I have thought the same thing.
well at what they're willing to give a tenth of a terrabyte for the first to release. I've never heard it apart from Bravehat's mention.
Purity Ring are just fresh new Electro-Pop, the albums drops on July 24th too.

pretty sure they were in a movie's soundtrack or something.

It's an extravagant example of African music, something I'd put on par with Buena Vista Social Club in terms of representing a certain energy of the culture. Grab if interested.
