Grimes is hella cool.

She says she uses drugs (mainly amphetamines), fasting, solitude and darkness to make music. At one point she stayed up for three days. "I like pushing the physical and mental limits", she explains. "I need to be able to work for 20 or 30 hours in one go in complete darkness, alone with just the computer glow. It's very intense and simultaneously torturous and beautiful."
Audio commentary on Devin Townsend's Epicloud, which is going to be released next month.
The single from the upcoming Enslaved album sounds pretty good.

Looking forward to the release of the new How to Destroy Angels Album. They should be saying something about it any day now.

Cannot wait for Oct. 27th.
As someone who lives in Seattle I cannot stand Macklemore. He comes off as a pretentious white hip-hop poet. Like a white Saul Williams who isn't kind of cool.

Some new Jodis
sounds solid

Even though I can definitely see where you're coming from, I totally disagree. Macklemore seems like a pretty honest and humble guy, he just cares way too much about everything he raps about, which is a good and bad thing I suppose.

Who better than a proper anarchist to give you some new RABM (Red & Anarchist Black Metal) recs? Here you'll get my top RABM releases for this year so far!
Most importantly: Kentucky by Panopticon. I've seen a couple of reviewers call it "the best black metal album ever", and I might actually agree!

Of course we can't forget Skagos new single: Anarchic!

And while this band isn't strictly speaking political, they're still connected enough to this scene that I found it on a RABM-related blog (and it's Danish): Solbrud

Aaaaand that's all from me.

I'm surprised to see no one talking about The Seer now that it's actually out and not just a leak anymore. What do you guys think? Personally I haven't heard it yet, I'm still listening to the Swans discography in chronological order and I'm going to listen to The Great Annihilator and Die Tür Ist Zu later today.
I've listened to it three times now and I like it but I definitely need more time with it, and I especially need to listen to it with my over-ear headphones rather than earbuds. But so far I think it fills out its 2 hour length very well with little filler and I'd definitely rank it near the top of Swans' discography. Soundtracks still hit me way harder though.
Slaughterhouse's new album is fucking tight.
Animal Collective's Centipede Hz is now released, I got myself a first edition copy today.
the blu & exile re-release is pretty good
I can't comment on the change in audio quality since I didn't listen to the original but this one is good

Flop of the year?
