For any Metalcore/Mathcore fans Architects' new album Daybreaker is set to release on the 28th of May in the UK and rest of Europe. The 5th of June in the US. There's the couple of songs that have been released from the album. I'm presuming most, if not all of the songs in the album will be political related. Devils Island is based on the riots that went on across England back in August 2011 (That ruined my night out plans might I add) as you can see with the video made up of footage from it all. Here, if you're unfamiliar and interested http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_England_riots

There was another 7" released early this year as well.
Did anyone mention BADBADNOTGOOD - BBNG2? Shit came out today.
Did anyone mention BADBADNOTGOOD - BBNG2? Shit came out today.
Came out yesterday. Listened to the first few tracks, pretty damn good. Better recording than the first but it's mostly covers.
wrong thread snip ;D
this worth hearing?
Came out yesterday. Listened to the first few tracks, pretty damn good. Better recording than the first but it's mostly covers.
Actually I think you'll find there's a much higher original material/covers ratio than the first.
Actually I think you'll find there's a much higher original material/covers ratio than the first.
lol who cares about ratio, this has Limit To Your Love on it. Which is probably the most intense track James Blake did from his first album, and to cover it is a ballsy thing to do.
Uhm, there is far too little Meshuggah in this thread. Koloss has been a fantastic album every time I've listened through it. I Am Colossus, Do Not Look Down, and Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave it Motion are very powerful and dark songs. I've been loving Demiurge quite a bit, too. Very satisfied after purchasing this album. Do Not Look Down: Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave it Motion: [editline]4th April 2012[/editline] I will comment that this is probably the darkest of Meshuggah's albums as of yet.
I hope there's another jazz record this year like Matana Roberts last year. There was a lot of good jazz last year actually. [editline]4th April 2012[/editline] speaking of which, she's releasing a sequel this year. :v:
lol who cares about ratio, this has Limit To Your Love on it. Which is probably the most intense track James Blake did from his first album, and to cover it is a ballsy thing to do.
The original is by faust tho?
The original is by faust tho?
WHAT? oh you mean Feist, you scared me for a second there... I can just imagine a krautrock version of it as we speak. :v:
The Smashing Pumpkins are coming out with something this year.
The Smashing Pumpkins are coming out with something this year.
Oh cool, I haven't heard anything they've done in the past ten years.
It's not really the Smashing Pumpkins anymore, it's more like Billy Corgan and his backing band because he was a dick to his band members and they all quit. Also Phoenix is supposed to release a new album. Their last one was my favorite of theirs so hopefully this will follow suit.
WHAT? oh you mean Feist, you scared me for a second there... I can just imagine a krautrock version of it as we speak. :v:
oh yeah... my bad
I can just imagine a krautrock version of it as we speak. :v:
akayz that's the best idea you've had all year

Now I'm just confused.
new Joyce Manor album coming out in like a week or something, and then Japandroids in the summer! I'm so excited fuck
I don't know what you're trying to say, I thought you were trying to imply the amount of covers was a downside due to your use of the word "but". Now I'm just confused.
I haven't listened to the entire thing, but it feels familiar from the right off. I'll probably only listen to it once, anyway.
I haven't listened to the entire thing, but it feels familiar from the right off. I'll probably only listen to it once, anyway.
The last two tracks may change your mind, I'll tell you now. I was blown away.
I'm pretty sure Mono are releasing this year, which along with GY!BE, my ears are gonna fucking hate me for all the over-eargasming (assuming they're as great as I hope)
The last two tracks may change your mind, I'll tell you now. I was blown away.
Fair enough. Just as jazz musicians they're nothing special, but the fact that they're associated with Odd Future makes them popular.
new Neil Young & Crazy horse album this June: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_releases/neil_young__crazy_horse_new_album_due_in_june.html Ho yes.....
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Why did nobody tell me?
Collab album, the styles here are kind of crazy for artists like Sufjan Stevens, Serengeti, Son Lux but I'll give it a whirl anyway.

Not disappointed seeing as I had no expectations, but happy it was an EP.
Diggin' this. It's very simple, indie female whispery singing, but it's very effectively melancholic in feel.
Came out yesterday.
I will never give this quote back it's context. [editline]6th April 2012[/editline]
melancholic
yes please
I will never give this quote back it's context.
I'm so happy
