That's awesome.
Flight 666: :iia:
So, anyone going to the Dream Theater & Iron Maiden tour? I am. Front row. :smug: I'm so goddamn fucking excited and it isn't until JULY x.x
Lucky bastard :saddowns: also, am I the only one who would associate Iron Maiden with the creation of power metal? Personally I think they were one of the 'founders' along with Helloween and Manowar, although they were never labelled as power metal.

Personally I think they were one of the 'founders' along with Helloween and Manowar, although they were never labelled as power metal.
They made alot of the fantasy topics okay, so I see what you're saying. However, power metal is typically faster than most Maiden songs, so the musical elements originate more with Helloween and the like. I see Iron Maiden and Judas Priest as the "green light" bands for all the awesome guitar harmonies we have today though, and I am a million times grateful for that.
Yeah, I didn't mean that they were a power metal band, I just meant that I think they've likely had some sort of impact on the power metal genre. But yeah Helloween are considered the biggest influence. I think Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I was considered the birth of power metal.
I just found out that my version of Powerslave has some kind of track mark problem which puts the intro to the title track at the end of Back In The Village. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Apparently it's on all of the 1998 reissues of the album.
Am I the only one who thinks that the new Eddie looks like Motorhead's mascot? He looks crap though, tbh.
Gonna see Maiden play with DT in June.
Dream Theater AND Iron Maiden? FUCK YOU :saddowns: Iron Maiden aren't doing any performances in the UK this year :emo:

That's no fucking Eddie.
None of that is Eddie, none of it. [editline]10:30PM[/editline] I just got a bass, Iron Maiden is bass-y, what should I learn?
Aces High [editline]10:45PM[/editline] The Trooper [editline]10:45PM[/editline] Powerslave [editline]10:45PM[/editline] Mother Russia
All of their songs... :colbert:
Yes learn everything Also, sadly, that's the new Eddie... Sure he's not the most consistent looking Mascot ever but he looks nothing, NOTHING like the others. At least you could distinguish the fact that he was Eddie before :saddowns:

Bought two albums a little time ago, Somewhere In Time and A Matter Of Life And Death. First mentioned is the best album right after Powerslave, atleast in my opinion. Any ideas what I should get next, I got the following: A Real Live Dead One Piece Of Mind Somewhere In Time Powerslave A Matter Of Life And Death Fear Of The Dark Iron Maiden (Yay!) No Prayer For The Dying The Number Of The Beast Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Total of 10 albums.
A Matter of Life and Death was the best thing that had ever blessed my ears the first time I heard it, oh my god. It was literally the best music I had ever heard in my life for the first playthrough. Absolute gold. That feeling was gone on the second play though... :saddowns:

Was just listening to Number of the Beast earlier, oddly enough.

I'm going to be at the DC concert, haven't gotten the tickets yet though. I hope there are still some left in the first several rows.
I'm going to their Pittsburgh concert.
Aww shit, I waited too long. The best seats I can find on Ticketmaster are one section from the back. :saddowns:
I'm seeing them in New York (Madison Square Garden, DT's first performance there, ever :smug:)
Gonna be a part of history then :slick: lucky ;-;
I'm seeing them in New York (Madison Square Garden, DT's first performance there, ever :smug:)
You lucky fuck. Sort of off-topic, but I am being forced to listen to Miss May I by my brother right now. This shit is terrible. Also, he says Iron Maiden isn't considered 'metal'

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath basically told the world that metal was cool, and without them there would quite likely be no metal in the world.
