Up the Irons!
I'm off to the concert on Saturday :D
I don't see how people can really prefer Children of Bodom. I can see why people like them because I do too, but awesome as they are they can't really touch Iron Maiden.
I actually quite like the Blaze Baley albums, although they aren't as good as the other ones, I enjoy the darker sound.
Never been to much of a fan. I like a few songs, but there nothing special as far as I'm concerned. Yea, they influenced metal a lot, but no, they are not the best band ever. I just never liked them, no real reason to it, I just never clicked with them. I can listen to them and enjoy it, but I have many things I'd rather listen to. They are a good band but just not my cup of tea. I prefer Judas Priest, Slough Feg, and even Helloween over Iron Maiden.... But really, if I was to suggest one band better than Iron Maiden in the genre, it would be Slough Feg. Now that's one of the best bands ever.
They're good but deffinetly not the best.

Brief History:
First formed in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, Iron Maiden has become one of the influencial bands in the world, but the road was bumpy in the early days, they had no stable line-up until early 1980 when they released their debut album, Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden reached number 4 in the UK charts with it's raw and almost punk sound and fan favourites like "Phantom Of The Opera" and "Iron Maiden". But their international success came with their masterpiece, The Number Of The Beast.
Since their debut, Iron Maiden has released 14 studio albums, 7 live albums, 9 complication albums, 4 extended plays, 40 singles, 15 video albums, 1 video game, and a box set.

UP THE MOTHERFUCKING IRONS!!!
Piece of Mind: The Trooper
Best song!
Edit:
Hey, they're a great band, but not the best metal band to walk the earth. That's a title that belongs to another band that will come along eventually.
So Far that band is DETHKLOK!
Piece of Mind: The Trooper
Best song!
YOU'LL TAKE MY LIFE, BUT I'LL TAKE YOURS TOO
YOU'LL FIRE YOUR MUSKET, BUT I'LL RUN YOU THROUGH
SO WHILE YOU'RE WAITING FOR THE NEXT ATTACK
YOU'D BETTER STAND, THERE'S NO TURNING BACK
Iron Maiden is great, but not the greates metal band.
Powerslave is my favorite song.

Powerslave was a great song too.
(Yes, I bring life to this thread)
I saw them live before, I really don't see what is so special. The lyrics aren't that meaningful to me, nor the image of the band.
EDIT: Goldphone, learn to not quote huge posts.
Best. Metal. Band. Ever.
My favorite Album is "A Matter of Life and Death", it's pure epic.
I saw them at Twickenham last Saturday, along with Within Temptation, Lauren Harris and Avenged Sevenfold. Maiden had the best set list in years.
Aces High (after Churchill's speech)
2 Minutes to Midnight
Revelations
The Trooper
Wasted Years
The Number of The Beast
Can I Play With Madness
Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Best song in my opinion)
Powerslave
Heaven Can Wait
Run to the Hills
Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden
(encore)
Moonchild
The Clairvoyent
Hallowed be thy Name
After the gig, I lost my voice, some of my hearing, and I started to like A7X.
Up the Irons!
