Yeah.... Fuck you and you living in one of the few cities our ISP's actually give a shit about.
Well, when a man is holding a baby while he's feeding a crocodile, your popularity tends to go down.
Who the fuck disagreed with me?
I may have a shitty connection, but I don't pay for it. Ever. :v:
I guess the reason why I liked Steve Irwin is because he was always "that cool Australian guy." I guess over there he is just "that jackass on TV."
He was, yeah. He was a nice guy, don't get me wrong. But not all Australians are all, "CRICKEY WHAT A BEAUTY." all the fucking time, or even at all. We're all fairly laid back, though, so if that's what you like, definitely come to Australia.

I've never seen a Kangaroo ever. I don't want to go to a zoo I actually want to go out and see one out in the wild. My entire intention of going there is probably just to see things like that. I mean I would be a tourist after all so it would be like:
See the city
Go on a tour and look for animals
Buy a hat and a knife
What city?
Don't go to a zoo (for animal welfare reasons I'm fairly against them), but maybe a wildlife sanctuary. I went to one earlier this year when I went to Queensland, and it was fantastic. They take care of the animals well, and they're in a relatively realistic environment, so they're not too stressed. Some of the animals have obviously been domesticated, but most weren't - for example, I could touch a baby crocodile, and fed about twenty kangaroos, but that was about it. The place was huge, too, so it's not zoo-like at all. You can find kangaroos all over Australia, but they will try to kill you in the wild (no joke, they're quite vicious and pretty big), if they do come up to you at all. I wouldn't recommend going out into the wild unassisted trying to find wildlife; you won't.
I don't even know if they have kangaroos in most zoos in Australia; I doubt it.

lol some guy who lives in New Zealand.

I never got the impression that all Australians were like that. I just got the impression that Irwin really liked animals and that's why he was always impressed by them.

Dunno really. If I had the chance to actually go I would start thinking about it though.

Fucking sheep isn't helping your family line, obviously.

I think the problem is that the international arena doesn't really think about Australia in general; we don't have a high profile, and most Americans know us from Paul Hogan and our bullshit 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony where we pretended to mow lawns, and Steve Irwin didn't exactly help.
Having said that, animals are awesome! Wildlife is fucking awesome. It's definitely cool that Australia has some pretty fantastic animals that are somewhat rare. So I can understand what you're saying.

If you one day end up here, go to either Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane. Not much happens on the other side of the continent. If you're looking for amazing beaches and weather, Queensland's the place to go. If you're looking for more cosmopolitan, city-type action, then the other two.
