I got 1 mark off an A in electronics. 1 MARK!!!
ICT: A Physics Unit 4: A Hooray! So much pressure off for the summer exams now :)
Got a U in unit 1 physics :suicide:
Got a U in unit 1 physics :suicide:
Are you in your first year? If so it's pretty normal to fuck stuff up on these first exams. I don't know why but all first years seem to do shite in their first set of exams. Most ASes in my college got at least one, usually two Us. Don't worry :)
Got a U in unit 1 physics :suicide:
if it's ocr, then that's expected, their exams are nuts.
Let's just say, I'm resitting everything in the summer so I'll have close to 10 exams or something then. Yay...
Eh, back when I did them I went from BDUE to A*AA B in the finals.
Eh, back when I did them I went from BDUE to A*AA B in the finals.
I got EEE, the university I want to go to gave me the offer ABB. I've talked to my teachers and apparently it's still doable...
A*AA? da fuq that would get you into Oxbridge.. why bath?
Oxbridge want the best, and they do that by interviews and tests and being very selective on who they offer a place to. Other good universities (Bath or Warrick for example) offer high offers but are less selective on who they offer it to. The highest offer I've seen is from Manchester (A*A*A)
Went from a D to an A in my Decision Maths resit, woo.
I got EEE, the university I want to go to gave me the offer ABB. Should have seen his face when he told us his results, never seen him so happy! :D Best of luck to you bud
Got a U in history pretty disapointed, but I needed a kick up the arse.
I'm taking a positive outlook on these results, just using the shitness of these results to give me a stern kick up the arse to actually put some effort in for the first time in my life
AAB Chemistry, physics and maths, needed an A in maths will have to unfuck it in june
Just got my general studies result, got 100% a dor it though
Who the ass said they were easy? maybe if you wanted a "EEE" level btec then yes, but if you want a D* in a science/engineering one then you have to do some hard graft. The work is about referencing, self-motivating, being interested in what you're learning. A-levels involve "spoon-feeding", "how much info can you condense in your brain", and "how you can communicate with the examiner". The only A-levels really worth the work are the creative and language subjects.
creative a levels are fucking awful no good arts university wants someone with just a levels
how the fuck do you manage that
I just can't learn maths at all. Not sure if it's teacher, mental block or what. Final result was A (86/90) in Physics, compared to an E (49/100) in Maths.
Managed to bring my Human Geography from a D last year up to an A this year. Going to resit Physical again (got a B first time) to see if I can get an A overall for AS Geography. No luck with computing this time, though. My resit didn't help, still on a D. Going to have to resit both papers to bring it up. And I've got A2's in the summer to look forward to as well, haha.

Literally the first other person I've met with that combination.
creative a levels are fucking awful no good arts university wants someone with just a levels
now it seems like there is no redeeming quality about A-Levels in any shape or form. That's good.
now it seems like there is no redeeming quality about A-Levels in any shape or form. That's good.
You have a strong dislike towards them, you fuck up or something?
You have a strong dislike towards them, you fuck up or something?
no, i'm doing well but the career i'm going for had little-to-no relevence to the physics or biology a-levels I was studying for. and there were much more efficient ways to get onto the course (having a job in the field) than doing them in the first place. [editline]8th March 2013[/editline] Imo, apprenticeships should be the more prominent.

I some how think its due to the fact they will be paying you fuck all for 5 years whilst your doing a job that will pay a fair amount more if your qualified. Even though they will have you doing the qualified mans work.
they really ought to scrap worthless degrees too, such as "business management" and others that "sound good but result in an endless job hunt". The exception being creative/culture subjects.
they really ought to scrap worthless degrees too, such as "business management" and others that "sound good but result in an endless job hunt". The exception being creative/culture subjects.
Not sure if its correct but a friend of mine said the UK's best sector at the moment is education, if it drops degree's like business management or w/e you class as worthless then it dents the industry. I cant seem them scrapping them until applications drop. A heads up to all uni students, seriously considering doing a masters degree as a "backup" if your struggling to get a job in your desired industry. You will not only look better on paper for the target industry but it will open up jobs within the education industry for example a teaching assistant at a university. Wage wont be amazing but it will keep you afloat whilst your still looking for that target job. You never know you might make a career out of it.
if you go into a degree based on what is relevant now, rather than what you want to do you're probably going to have a really shitty time
I'm considering changing from my BEng in Automotive Engineering to a BSc in Automotive Technology with Management, mostly because there's less maths involved. At the moment I'm barely passing on my course, and I think a better grade with a slightly worse degree would probably look better. Anyone here know if it's worth making the switch?
Someone else doing further maths, physics, and Spanish, what is this? Literally the first other person I've met with that combination.
well technically the further maths part is only an AS, since I dropped german near the end of my first year of sixth form for a bunch of reasons (basically doing 2 languages at A-level is fucking suicide)

If your really struggling work for a year within the industry you will find it easier to get work experience for a year rather than a job, work your arse off for that year and hope you get at least a 2.2 at the end of the degree that's usually the min mark employers will keep you on. Considering you will also have 1 years worth of experience. Im saying keep you on as if you do work your arse off and the employers like you they may offer to sponsor the rest of your degree. I know a few guys who went part time for their final year and did it over two. I didnt bother and used the year ive "saved" to carry on my education..
got an E in one English Combined exam but a B in the other, yeah okay GG exam marker man.
