She apparently recently immigrated to the US and she has a pretty noticeable accent, but her English is pretty fluent. Do you guys know of any cultural differences I should be aware of going into this? I'm not sure how dating works in Eastern Europe.

I've finally figured how to live a happy and fulfilling life on my own, and I'm finding that the only thing I'm lacking is a human connection. Yeah I've got plenty of good friends, but nobody really close.
Unfortunately, I just don't have this socializing thing down. I can carry on a conversation and be engaging and funny or interesting, but I'm not being very successful at finding people to talk or actually starting.
I've thought about it, and it seems like the solution here is to make a OKCupid account so I can find people and get to talking faster. Does anyone have any tips for this? Or like, things I should know heading into this.

Just treat her like you would treat any other girl. I could ask my Ukrainian friend, but it's pretty dumb to assume all Ukrainian girls like the same things when it comes to dating just as it's dumb to assume all American girls like the same things when it comes to dating.

It's weird how quiet it is. I slept in this morning and woke up to a completely silent apartment... No dogs howling, parrot screaming her head off, or boyfriend talking outside my room. Been listening to music most of the time to feel more comfortable.
I keep my window open so I get the faint sound of traffic all the time. Makes it easier than complete silence. Also a fan.

He's going to be visiting for a few days in 3 weeks. We were planning to go out for Halloween or something and either be slutty Red Riding Hood and a manslutty lumberjack or Wonder Woman/Captain America (because he is literally Captain America. His name is Stephen (Steve?), he looks EXACTLY like Chris Evans, he's super ripped, and he apparently doesn't age.)
I do have another friend who I'm not planning on having sex with who I've been pushing to come over this weekend so hopefully he shows up. Not going to be able to get through all this vodka on my own.

A few hours after I made the okc account, someone made a post on my university's confessions page saying that someone was really cute, with a description that exactly matches me.
This is great and all, but they also said they're really shy, and the confession page is completely anonymous. So what the hell am I supposed to do about it

Decided to go Clay Pigeon Shooting on my own to see if the range is any good, and if it is, I think I'll invite a girl who is crazy into shooting to come along with me during the weekend. Will check it out tomorrow, hopefully!
Was meant to go out with mates today to a bar and just get to know everyone, but I have freshers' flu really bad, and I feel like shit.
I managed to wake up at 7am today (on a Saturday, that's almost blasphemous) to meet friends at 9am to go zipwiring, which was fucking incredible. Great day, even though I'm feeling rather crap right now.

Yeah, don't bother with it. My university has one of those and while it did get me down that anybody who someone says they have a crush on is a million times more attractive than me, it really is high school level bullshit. It also makes me suspicious of most girls at my university because you get so many posting about cheating on their boyfriends and I honestly feel like I'd end up being one of those poor bastards who gets cheated on because I'm unattractive and sexually inexperienced to the point where I don't even know how to flirt.
