Fucking love TDWP. I have had their new album since the beginning of May or so...fucking great.
I just don't understand why you guys come in here shitting up the thread. If you don't like it, you can just say so. Who the hell cares if you stereotyped someone as emo then stereotyped their music as shit? I like this band, you don't. There's no reason to come in here and start getting all butt hurt about it. Broke me automerge. :(
You posted on a forum We're using this forum There's nothing blocking us from clicking the thread Do the math
:words: I'm a fan of Iron Maiden/Symphony X etc., does that make me a metalhead? :words:
No. It makes you a fan of classic heavy metal and power metal, though.
I don't understand why you people are coming in here and trolling a discussion thread about a band. It's not like your changing anyone's opinions about the bands. Saying the band sucks doesn't cause one to say, "OH HE SAYS THE BAND IS NOT GOOD SO I THINK THEY'RE NOT TOO" EDIT: Also, making fun of music stereotypes, (Metalheads, emo kids, etc.), is just stupid, as those terms are dumb to begin with. Half of them imply that the said person ONLY listens to that genre of music.

As for me, I'd tell you to fuck off, and keep your opinions to your self. Then again, I'm not a scenester. However, you're again implying that all of these musically stereyotyped people have certain variables to them that don't differ from person to person. EDIT: Plus, you're on a internet forum, no one cares about anyone else's opinion, and that's science.

I am sure about that. I know quite a few scene kids and music is something they take pride in, so when you start saying the music they like sucks, they're going to get upset with you. Besides, this is a thread about a band, so why are we talking about stereotypes? If you meant you're not sure that nobody cares about other people's opinions: You're on Facepunch. Here, if someone cares about your opinion, it's because they think you're wrong, and have to prove it. If someone agrees with you, it is only because they are disagreeing with someone else. I just pity the fact that your view on people is limited to stereotypes such as "scene, emo and metalhead." Open your mind a little, then maybe we'll care about the babble running out of your mouth.
Where is meryl streep?
She does the screaming. Yessir.
Scene kid music.
Scene kid music.
QFT. I'll go back to my death metal I guess...
So I assume scene = bad.
Very, very generic metalcore. The fact that it's christian metalcore just makes it so much worse.
What is happening in the 2000's with Metal and metalcore is the same thing that happened in the 90's with grunge and post-grunge. Metalcore and deathcore are a bastardized, commercialized version of metal, to make it profitable to sell it to consumer sheep. And the fact that so many people like the extremely simple, unthoughtful, talentless, generic crap that I so often hear is stupid. I don't care if people listen to whatever they want, but that means that I'm going to say what I want about it. The biggest difference between people who listen to metal and the people who listen to metalcore, is that 30 years from now, I'm still going to be listening to metal. 30 year from, the people who listen to metalcore aren't going to be listening to metalcore. Because it's just an annoying trend. The fact that people get so defensive about it amuses me because they shouldn't give a shit about other people's opinion. It just shows that most people who listen to these bands are just yearning for self-validation. If somebody says a band I like sucks. Well who gives a shit. They can go fuck themselves. THAT is why I troll so many metalcore/deathcore listeners. To teach them to actually THINK about what they are doing.

If I think it's shit, I don't listen to it, simple.

What is that, listening to music you don't like? I'm not defensive about the idea that you don't like TDWP, I just don't like that you're shitting up my thread. I don't care if you listen to traditional/power/heavy/whatever metal you want to call what you listen to. Chances are, I like and listen to that already. Just because I like TDWP doesn't mean I think other, and probably better, metal too. I think Symphony X and Iron Maiden, the bands I mentioned earlier, are better than TDWP. But I like TDWP too, and I felt like making a thread about them because I bought a new CD. I like lots of music, I'm not saying TDWP is the bestest metal ever cause it's super br00tal and Xcore!!1! I just like them, that's all. You don't, good for you, but could you show some decency and not troll? [editline]06:53PM[/editline]
Very, very generic metalcore. The fact that it's christian metalcore just makes it so much worse.
For all I know, they are pretty generic. I'm just getting into metalcore and stuff, that's probably why this band attracted me, because I think anything heavier is messy and irritating at the moment. I had a hard time adapting to TDWP, and pretty soon I'll probably looking for something heavier.
The Devil Wears Prada is a Christian Metal/Hardcore
What.
from Ohio.
Double what. Also all the kids at my school listen to them. The two "cool" types of music there are screamo/hip-hop, and not the good kind either.
Pretty bland and boring.
Pretty bland and boring.
We're not forcing you to listen to the band, he made this thread so that people who like it can talk about it.

I want to be able to describe bands like The Cro-Mags, Cruel Hand, The Mongoloids, Madball and related bands as metalcore. Because that's what they are. Metallic hardcore. But now metalcore means black hair, whiney choruses and melodic riffs. It pisses me off.
PS don't like music because it is Christian, like my brother did when he was super religious.
PPS I can't understand what the fuck you just said

TDWP: Music for scene tools.
TDWP: Music for scene tools.
1x Agree
scene kids are sooo cute! they try soo hard to be 'cool' as they hang out around the shopping mall near my house and try to shout out witty insults at me and my friends as we walk by! don't you just wanna squeeze their cheeks! (and give them a haircut)
awww :)
