How do you develop an opinion from that? I mean, it's fine if it's just not your thing, but it's not "bad" just because you don't like it.

Well that pretty much summed up what I was going to say. jesseluver, Plagues isn't a very good album by them. From what I've listened to so far, I don't really like it, but I love Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord. Take a look at their newer stuff, it's probably more complex. (Don't hold me to it, I haven't listened to it yet.)

I think all of their music sucks. I personally just don't like music where you have no idea what the fuck they're saying. If it was just guitar, that'd be a different story, wouldn't mind just listening to that. What's the point of yelling your lungs out of your mouth into a mic? No one can understand you.

No one can understand you.[/QUOTE] Most music of this type is written to convey emotion, that's why it's labeled as "emo" by many. The screaming is used more as an instrument than to convey meaning. That's why they mix clean vocals and screaming. It's really always been more than "RAWR WE'RE HARDxCORE". Screaming (for post-hardcore and the like, at least) started with hardcore punk bands, which used yells and gang vocals to convey a sense of urgency or whatever. Screaming for death metal and such was meant to sound more "Demonic" as to better fit the content of quite a few songs. It's really there for a reason, no matter how much you think some band doesn't have talent, they do. They're all musicians. Things are there for a reason. A lot of bands scream like this, and while I can't understand a lot of the screaming, I can catch bits and pieces of it. I have a hard time with all song vocals though. I've got hearing loss so it's harder for me to comprehend lyrics when they're not as clearly pronounced as simply speaking them.
