buy an f-16, those things are cool as fuck
honestly i would just buy a civilian aircraft because they're cheaper and get the job done
I saw an F-86 Sabre for 180,000 dollars. Affordable for a fighter.
Do you have any idea how much a billion dollars is? Please show me one aircraft that nears the billion dollar mark.
B-2 bomber, 800m USD (circa 1990) 1.3B or so in current USD [editline]08:41PM[/editline] Propeller planes are more fun to fly, by the way.
Source: http://www.gunslot.com/blog/top-active-united-states-military-fighter-jets [editline]10:18AM[/editline] Those are active ones.
Who wants an American jet...
Who wants an American jet...
Statistically, US-manufactured fighter jets have been shown to have the best kill-ratios. 'Course, that could just be due to pilots, the planes could really just be shit. So who knows.
And your evidence?
...Evidence? This isn't an investigation.
Didn't think so...
I'm pretty sure UK legislation says that ariel vehicles of any kind that carry any form of weapon payload are illegal and surprisingly there are speed limits in UK airspace so its basically just buying a lambourghini but driving it like a ford
Didn't think so...
yeah i didn't think it was an investigation either
I want to buy a fighter jet, then put NERF guns on it!
The university I went to has an L29. [img_thumb]http://www.ccad.uiowa.edu/opl/gallery/l29/L29_11_.jpg[/img_thumb] Pretty cheap! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/L-29-Military-Jet-Aircraft-/290451779152?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Aircraft&hash=item43a0466e50#ht_676wt_1165
It is possible to buy fighter jets if you have the money but fighter jets aren't even affordable by multi-millionaires. Fighter jets cost BILLIONs not millions. Also, the companies who make these jets are probably going to straight up just say no if you try to buy one. Because if they sell you a jet fighter some news agency is going to go. IRRESPONSIBLE! The military is going to go oh shit and distance themselves from that company and then there goes a large company.
The average F-15 costs around $28 million, an F-22 being around $150 million. You're probably thinking of the B-2 bomber, though that isn't in the billions, either; it's around $700 million. But you're correct about them most likely not selling currently active models of fighter jets to civilians.
just download the model from garrysmod.org and fly away... lol
I'd buy a fighter jet just to bomb the Russians. Damn Commies
Depending on your country's aviation law but they are essentially legal. I guess the best chance to get one would be to look for auctions that armed forces usually keep when they want to get rid of their outdated stuff. And I don't think they'll offer you training for old models. At least around here it's illegal (and frankly dangerous) to fly a specialized plane like that without training for that specific model. An F-15 pilot could not get a MiG-21 for instance off the ground without proper training.
You can buy Saab Drakens i've heard.
Airplane graveyards...... Steal one.
That's for BROKEN aircraft. Alot of jets are Moth-balled in the Mohave dessert. And they are actually reconditioned or old aircraft that is not in service anymore. These jets are sold to air forces around the globe with a cheap price.
You can buy an F-86 Sabre for about $50,000. That's the last price I saw someone buy it for. Better get to mowing lawns.
