or boring
Does anyone else ever get afraid that they'll stop enjoying music? Because I'm starting to get there.
Who enjoys music anyway????
no im afraid of real things like the inevitable collapse of society caused by corporations or the hallucinations i have at night
I dont enjoy music, I enjoy the effect it has on people.
i dont even get what allmusic is

If you lose interest, you lose interest what can I do about it.
I hate them because they're inconsistent, you hate them because you actually spent money on an album for their reviews.
That's more on you tbh.
Also Christgau is cool, name another 70 year old man who likes Hip Hop and Afrobeat.
listening to his latest reviewed album:

pretty damn good, and I know I never would have heard it otherwise.
dumb interpretation of my post. I enjoyed the album I bought and I don't hate them for getting sucked in once, it was an enjoyable album
Obviously what I was saying was that it only took me about a week to realise how inconsistent they were so I stopped paying any attention to them whatsoever. Probably when a reviewer gave an album 2 stars while admitting it was good music and he just didn't like the kind of trend that the music represented.
Also, so Christgau likes hip hop and afrobeat - so what. The amount of terrible opinions about good music he perpetuates while calling himself the 'dean of rock and roll' is just embarrassing. Who calls themselves the dean of rock and roll anyway.
Sounded like you didn't like the album as you mentioned you bought it because of an allmusic review and then called them idiots.
Also there's no grounds to hating people for disliking music you love. He thought George Harrison's All Things was bland, I love that record yet understand why he didn't; He also admits he's prejudiced against metal.
Some of his A+ albums have a real quality and it's clear he knows what he likes. He's not really a specialist like Scaruffi, he just grabs records and listens to them even at an old age. I'd like to see other 70 year olds giving Death Grips a whirl :v:
akayz i know you're viewing this thread give me some instrumental jazz recommendations, preferably post 90s.
No, I just think allmusic is awful. I think the album was like, Ocean Rain by Echo and the Bunnymen or something. It was a good album
Sure if he has his own opinions that's fine, but considering he touts himself as some sort of ultimate authority then denounces loads of great albums - that's not cricket

Read some more RYM user reviews then you'll see he's not actually that extreme :v:

Could you guys please help me find a song?
It's a 80s duet of two guys (vaguely remind me of Simon and Garfunkel).
The video is of the two guys in this room with two chairs in it and they start pulling out and playing random instruments and playing them. The song is sung in a rappish way - with more melodic talking than singing.
I've listened to it on VH1 Classic and on my radio a 1000 times and I can't for the life of me remember its name.
Someone told me earlier than my taste in music makes them wet, apparently they'd never heard of Electric Lights Orchestra before.
theres a flying lotus song at the end of the newest episode of adventure time, and i went look it up (because its rad) and it doesn't exist in any other form than the 30 seconds of credits at the end of that episode. I tweeted FL to put it online somewhere, because its so catchy and i want it bad
