Its a shame that this list that opal posted is literally a who's who of who is very well known albums because they've all either been touted by the quietus or pitchfork Speaking of no wave I found a great no wave artist the other day Lizzy Mercier Descloux? at least I was told she was no wave, she edges there

it takes a rare band for me to stop and purchase a bunch of their albums on the spot Usually if I want to check out a genre/scene I'll buy one album for an artist, then move onto a different artist in that scene to find which one I like most and use that as a starting point, then I'll move on other than starting with a really good knowledge of like, Pink Floyd and having no knowledge of any other prog bands I think I've only ever done that with Talking Heads

This is kind of unrelated but every so often I remember the fact that I've never actually had an argument or even a disagreement with another person about music in general, and it amazes me every time. I know it sounds really petty and it probably isn't even true but considering how much I see other people arguing over what really is a relatively benign subject, I feel glad that I have yet to taint one of my remaining pleasures in life with the lugubrious intellectual impartiality that overcomes me so often in debate pertaining to more worldly matters like politics (even though I barely know shit about them in the first place). I think I'd like to keep it that way.
