their '95 live album is rly the only material i like from them
i have "nothing to fear" and their 10" debut ep "only a lad" on vinyl and i love them both very much this track is my fave. its so catchy [editline]30th March 2013[/editline]
same issue i have. a "black flag fan" that has only listened to damaged. a guy getting into husker du that starts and stops with zen arcade, every blog that lists double nickels on the dime as the only reason to care about the minutemen
thats why i don't concider myself a fan of a band unless i know almost everything about them, and have most of their albums i could call myself a gorillaz fan
i could call myself a gorillaz fan
no kidding
no kidding
ive been listening to them since i was five, i saw the clint eastwood music video debut on mtv, I have almost every album they've made and the first album i ever bought was their self titled album the year it came out (because i liked the video so much i went out and bought it) thats why i would call myself a fan i spent way too many hours going through kong studios on their website growing up too
you bought a cd when you were 5?
my parents drove me to the store [editline]31st March 2013[/editline] i paid for it with my own christmas money
yeah thats disgusting i mean damaged isnt even indicative of black flags career ffs
the minutemen to me are the real tragedy. their name gets tossed around to describe in the bios of shitty bands so often yet all anyone cares about is one of their albums which really isnt any better or worse than the near dozen others they have made same with fugazi lol. i swear to god i saw the fucking motion city soundtrack list them as an influence. what the fuck [editline]31st March 2013[/editline]
my parents drove me to the store [editline]31st March 2013[/editline] i paid for it with my own christmas money
good 4 u :)
the minutemen to me are the real tragedy. their name gets tossed around to describe in the bios of shitty bands so often yet all anyone cares about is one of their albums which really isnt any better or worse than the near dozen others they have made
what makes a man start fires is a fucking classic punk record and it should be remembered at least as much as double nickles on the dime but whtver
same with fugazi lol. i swear to god i saw the fucking motion city soundtrack list them as an influence. what the fuck
i dont know what band this is but i clicked on the first vid that popped up and the singer or whatever was wearing a goo shirt that tells me all i need to know [editline]31st March 2013[/editline] people who say teenage riot was their favourite sonic youth album usually get very angry looks from me
anyone that has said that should have their ears revoked lol and all you need to know is that they are a mildly popular pop punk band being pushed by some guy from blink 182 or some shit [editline]31st March 2013[/editline] we're talking mid 2000s epitaph records
yeah were inspired by fugazi *charges teens 55 dollars for a ticket via ticketmaster*
Generally you can tell what bands have that sort of one-album syndrome with fans based on the t shirts you find in hot topic or whatever It really pisses me off because I'd love to wear more band shirts but there are very few good ones, and then there are great albums worn by people who know literally nothing about them the minutemen have this problem, as do sonic youth and joy division which is a real shame because in theory the goo shirt is a great idea the unknown pleasures shirt is everywhere round these parts and people are like "Yeah I really like this album love will tear us apart"
i want a stereolab band shirt but they are expensive for one that isnt just a shitty print of an album cover by some random chinese company that one is kind of dope but it looks poorly made but ill probably just make one myself one day when im really bored or something [editline]31st March 2013[/editline]
the unknown pleasures shirt is everywhere round these parts and people are like "Yeah I really like this album love will tear us apart"
the cruel joke is that closer is much better than unknown pleasures
I wouldn't mind a Margerine Eclipse shirt, I really like that design but orange is a shitty shirt colour unless it was like silhouetted, not sure Actually, there are some pretty good Fela Kuti shirts and a Pink Flag shirt wouldn't be bad at all
there is a store in town that sells cd's for $1 each. i went there once a little while ago and there were about 300 cd's of people i have never ever heard of, so it sounds like a good place to find new music. i will buy lots of cd's from there someday.
i looked up Hudson Mohawke cuz i like one of their songs and i heard it at a friends house and now i realize i have heard their stuff in other stuff i like and hed no idea it was the same artist at the time this happens to me a lot
well yeah b/c Hudson Mohawke is everywhere and everybody loves his Satin Panthers EP Warp Records tho
yeah they are similar (to each other) and very different from the rest of their material.
Wow have you even listened to either of them? Pink and Smile are both more similar to orange Heavy Rocks than the purple one is
Wow have you even listened to either of them? Pink and Smile are both more similar to orange Heavy Rocks than the purple one is
im just comparing the like 4 albums where they actually play rock music to like the 90 other albums they have where it is just drone/noise
