• Should teenagers have more or less freedom?
Common criminals and vapid idiots are not the product of a secure family environment. If anything, an over-reliance on the government to raise your children while the parents ignore their needs is an easy way to creating yet another gangbanger.
I think you'll find that criminality follows all different conditions of environment that children are raised in, not just the stereotypical concept of a broken home. What kind of evidence do you have to back up the claim that government intervention into the family raises criminality? I'm interested.
Its gotta be a case by case thing. There are teens who are model citizens. There are also teens who should be locked up.
That's a false argument. Teens that conform to societal pressures should have freedoms that they will never use because they conform to societal pressures. Teens that don't conform to societal pressures shouldn't have freedoms because they might use those freedoms. That's akin to saying you can only have speech rights if your speech is proper and acceptable. It's not 'free' if it costs something in exchange.
I believe the voting age should be raised, at least in the US, maybe to 21 or as high as 25. While I know there are some exceptions, I don't believe that the majority of teenagers are properly equipped with the knowledge to make these decisions.
A lot of adults don't seem equipped with the knowledge to vote either. All raising the voting age will do skew the polls in favor of conservatives.
Letting teenagers having their own freedoms sounds like it would be ok, as long as a stable education was held in place and the child was taught basic right from wrong situations. That freedom could lead to the teenager deciding what they want to be when they grow up. Hell, keeping a child all day at the house and doing chores and not letting them be out and see other places and the world (in a smaller scale) would give them absolutely no clue on what kinds of great things are in store. So would I say let them do what they want? Yes, but with restrictions as well.
Should teenagers have more or less freedom? It seems like some teenagers can do whatever they want while other's cannot. Probably due to restrictions from parents and other factors. Too much freedom can lead to abuse (and other things?) while too much would lead to rebellions(?). So debate.
If there's a rebellion then they have to much freedom. Today I'd say by experience that teenagers should have less freedom. I for example suffer worse grades than i could have and many of my friends are criminals because of their parents lack of proper raising (Not only, if even, their fault of course).
Should be case-by-case and up to the family. For example, 9 times out of 10, your average teenager on Facebook is incredibly stupid. Teens like them should have limited freedom. The other 1 out of the 10 wouldn't even THINK about being on Facebook. They can show that they are able to resist against peer pressure most of the time, and most times, are not retarded. They should be given slightly more freedom.

I wouldn't mind, they should have to pass some kind of stupidity test first though. Now that I think about it, in general we should base stuff off intelligence not age.

Freedom to only perform things which generally do not go again the society is the only type of freedom that exists in today's world and the only type which should.
Its gotta be a case by case thing. There are teens who are model citizens. There are also teens who should be locked up.
Exactly, same with adults. It's not just teenagers who fuck around and act carefree, there are adults who do too, just with teens it's up to the parents to keep them under control before the police get to them.
I think they should have a fair amount of freedom, but if they start to do anything seriously bad, or anything that could lead to it, lessen their freedom.
