Rum is nice and mellow, not too terrible a taste. Alcohol is still not my drug of choice though.

Usually for my pre-drink I'll either have shots of cactus jack, whisky or 70% absinthe. Treble vodka with lemonade, Jägerbombs and sambuca shots for the rest of the night out.

I found neat vodka to be the best for any occasion requiring serious drinking or intoxication. It doesn't taste like anything and looks like water so you can get ripped without even noticing it, great for boring parties.
