• Why is being a virgin shameful?
The thinking seems to be that if you're still a virgin, you can't get any action/don't want to get any action. Obviously, in a sex obsessed culture being ugly or asexual are terrible things so you're marginalised as a loser. Similarly, being a manwhore is perceived as a sign of virility and attractiveness and so is pursued. I suppose it's basic social proofing. "Well, if he's still a virgin then there must be something wrong with him because everyone else has had sex*." *That's what they say, for precisely this reason.
There is the "fitting in" element to losing your virginity, but it still stands that sex really isn't that hard to get - so if you can't get any you either don't get out enough or nobody wants to be with you. Both of which are frowned upon for obvious reasons.
This thread reminds me, my biological parents are virgins.
excuse me, what
This thread reminds me, my biological parents are virgins.
Care to explain how the fuck that is possible?
Well yeah, if you're 40. But that doesn't really have anything to do with sex now does it?
Not directly. But sex, as I said before, is a sign that you were in a relationship and got to the stage where they consent to have sex with you.
If you've had sex you've been in a relationship with someone who's agreed to have sex with you. If you've never been to that stage you're obviously not social, or undesirable. Probably both.
:crying:
I don't care about virginity but I won't fuck a girl that I don't know closely and/or don't trust. It's just not right.
Not directly. But sex, as I said before, is a sign that you were in a relationship and got to the stage where they consent to have sex with you.
Bullshit. Lost my virginity to a total bitch that I didn't even like. Sat in one of her classes spoke a couple of sentences and she wanted my penis. Is that a relationship? Losing your virginity allows you to actually say yea I fucked that one girl. And when your friends ask around and comes back true you get a fucking high-five. You lose your virginity for a manly fucking high-five.
Care to explain how the fuck that is possible?
You cum in a cup, collect it, inject into vagina. No sex involved, and pregnancy occurs.
it's shameful because you're missing out on one the best, most special feeling (both physical and emotionally) you would ever experience. But not at a young age, that just ain't cool.
Generally the people who see it as shameful are the types of people who think it's shameful to not kick the girl out of your house after you're done.
I mean, back in the old days it was preferred. But now its a shameful thing. Isn't this why we have things like AIDS?
what are you talking about? why would being a virgin give you aids?
Why rate my last post dumb? Don't you get it? Being virgin is shameful (in a group of people you're in) because they were influenced by culture that surrounds them. If you were raised somewhere else being a virgin could be a reason to be proud of yourself. Just a trend.
try RAPE its really quite simple all you have to do is stick your finger into someones ear because rape is defined as sticking one of your bodyparts in to someone elses body and voila you lose virginity
I don't care about virginity but I won't fuck a girl that I don't know closely and/or don't trust. It's just not right.
Look at what we have here a guy with principles. I used to be like you. Meet a girl you like, think you have chemistry, but you really fucking don't. She won't put out because you don't have balls. I'll say this to my future son. "you want to meet the girl of your dreams?" "You have to fuck the wrong one before you meet the right one"
I don't care about virginity but I won't fuck a girl that I don't know closely and/or don't trust. It's just not right.
This man speaks the truth.
This man speaks the truth.
Now you two are making excuses because you can't get laid.
Now you two are making excuses because you can't get laid.
Yeah, that's got to be it.
Not the slightest. Getting laid isn't on the top of my list of things to do right now. It's pretty far down on the list, actually.
Look at what we have here a guy with principles. I used to be like you. Meet a girl you like, think you have chemistry, but you really fucking don't.
Not the slightest. Getting laid isn't on the top of my list of things to do right now. It's pretty far down on the list, actually.
I weep for the soon dwindling population and the fate of humanity with this ideology.
I weep for the soon dwindling population and the fate of humanity with this ideology.
So what's your strategy? Keep fucking until you knock up a girl who wants to keep it?
I fully intend on never having sex with a woman :smug:
Bullshit. Lost my virginity to a total bitch that I didn't even like. Sat in one of her classes spoke a couple of sentences and she wanted my penis. Is that a relationship? You lose your virginity for a manly fucking high-five.
That's the problem with using a binary state like virginity as a factor in your social status - it's like the age restrictions on adult media, a binary state of "are you over this age". Some people below the age limit are perfectly mature enough to consume the media, others above the age limit may not be. Just as how, like in your case, the sex wasn't built upon a relationship, whereas some people will need to be in a very close relationship for a long time before the other partner will consent to sex. So the assumption is that virginity is built upon a reasonable relationship and some kind of legitimate emotional attachment rather than mindless humping, and the assumption is that people over 'this' age are mature enough emotionally to consume 'that' adult media. Non-virginity is used as a sign of sociability and sexual/emotional desirability, age is used as a sign of mental maturity. Neither are that accurate. To be honest I'm a bit concerned that you said a few sentences to "some bitch you don't even like", she said she wanted your penis, and you accepted anyway. Were you trying to get rid of your virginity or something?
I fully intend on never having sex with a woman :smug:
me either
So what's your strategy? Keep fucking until you knock up a girl who wants to keep it?
There is no strategy. I'm just saying that I'm a believer that you can't have a fulfilling relationship with a girl if you haven't had sex. Were you trying to get rid of your virginity or something?
Absolutely. After a while I was getting desperate just turned 17 I should have lost my virginity. Then I realized that I began seeing women as objects of sex. I couldn't stand that so I just got rid of it. Sort of like taking off shades the way I see it. Now I've been with the same girl for 6 months. Very sweet and I see her as a person not as a hole to put my penis in.
I never even thought about virginity, not once. I was just in a relationship and things escalated to sex and it felt very natural. I've never been one for letting social norms drive me in any way, or even directly affecting the way I think too much. Sex is amazing when you have it; probably the best feeling there is. But it's very ephemeral. You still have the memory but it doesn't offer that much in the way of long term fulfillment in itself. [editline]02:11AM[/editline]
I weep for the soon dwindling population and the fate of humanity with this ideology.
soon dwindling population? Do you honestly think that's the direction humanity is going in?
;19289188']There are also the rare, rare people who aren't obsessed with sex and don't feel the need to have it.
Well that's fair enough. But it's also assumed that you'd at least rather like to have sex. That's why this virginity thing is so misleading and inaccurate. I'm not strictly saying this is my point of view, but the fact of the matter is, most people apply a stigma of some sort towards virginity at an older age. Non-virginity as an emblem of social status is also generalising, of course, because of those few people you mention who don't intend to pursue sex.
soon dwindling population? Do you honestly think that's the direction humanity is going in?
No man I don't. Just a joke.
I want sex a lot because I'm horny and lonely :(
I weep for the soon dwindling population and the fate of humanity with this ideology.
People will have sex in their own time. Just depends what "their own time" is, from person to person. The population isn't going to dwindle because people aren't squirting out babies. I think in a lot of places the opposite is true, there's too many people. Maybe you're just being sarcastic and I haven't twigged onto that yet, in which case: shit. [editline]02:16AM[/editline]
No man I don't. Just a joke.
Shit.
Having someone around all the time would drive me insane in less than a day, so if a long-lasting relationship is a requirement for sex then I guess I'm pretty much fucked (or un-fucked :v:). I mean I can have a friend around every now and then, but most of the time I just want to be alone with my phone turned off.
