I really had fun the first time I played it. I started the game, ran off down some random path out of the starting town, and found a good place far from the road to build a small cottage. This cool guy lived just across the road from me was very helpful, and we became pretty good friends. Then I stopped playing for a long time, came back, and he was gone, his home abandoned. I thought I'd try sending him a private message and lo and behold, he responded, and guided me up to his new home, on a cliffside overlooking everything. It was pretty cool.
That was years ago though, haven't touched the game since. I'm sometimes tempted to get back into it but I don't know if I have the time like I used to.

The graphics are kinda bad but after I played it for a while I got kinda used to it and I didn't want it to change. There's a special charm to it I think.
I loved how realistic Wurm was, but it went far beyond realistic and just time consuming.
Devoting a few hours a day to a game is alright, but when I have to devote may day to making(failing miserably) planks for a 1x1 shack, its frustrating.
Your first house is always the hardest. That's why I just made a square of fences, a gate and a lock just to hold my planks whilst I worked on getting enough planks and nails for a larger house.

I started playing again and walked around for at least an hour trying to find a good place to settle down but then got killed by a spider.
So much for that.
Where only limit is your time and money!
I have super skilled account there which i haven't used for months. I don't have the time for it either these days.
But thank god there is now more animations! It looked really ackward then you got a random action animation like once every minute.
All those saying that this game takes time yes it does take time but thats why its more rewarding in the end. It also gives you a lot more reason to play unlike most MMOs where you get bored within a month here you dont. Im playing for 3 years now and still not about to give up. Its not for everyone i agree and starting out can be really bad but its been made a lot better there is also a tutorial and things are easier to make. Overall if you havent tried this since 2010 then i suggest you do because almost everything changed.
All I can say is that the game is very addictive so watch out.
