You seem aggressive in your posts. Why is that?
Everything has an end.

If people haven't heard of David Cope, he's worked with dynamic music if anyone is interested in this type of thing.
Exactly what I meant.
I miss when songs were about something other than different things related to romance, like how fun it is to chill and listen to the radio (Radio Gaga, Queen), how excessive hedonism corrupts one's life (Feel Good Inc., Gorillaz) , A badass variation of the story of the boy who cried wolf (Iron Man, Black Sabbath) and a rollercoaster of musical styles in the span of few minutes (Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen).
I can agree to the theme of most modern pop. It is almost always related to some form of romance or "true love" and I don't seem to understand why ever so many songwriters incorporate it into their songs. Is it the easiest thing to write lyrics about? Is it the most relatable topic for listeners to associate with?

sex and love are two things that all but a very small portion of the population desire. if you want you music to have mass appeal, make it about sex or love

Do you desire mass pop about sex and love? Would explain your furious defending of radio nicely.

im actually insulting your inability to listen to anything but radio
Hearing some justin bieber once a week wont fucking kill you.
I have a severe allergy to bad music; Lady Gaga comes on and my brain just tries to commit suicide. But seriously, I agree, pop music is okay in small doses. Unfortunately, sometimes it's not that easy to escape. For example, teachers in my high school think it's just dandy to play the same station on the radio every day. We all have the pleasure of hearing Justin Bieber and Moves Like Jagger and S&M and Call me Maybe every single fucking day last year and Adele and Katy Perry and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together every fucking day this year.

Because radio caters to the lowest bidders.
itt: "music is dead"
lol you're not looking hard enough p much
Because radio caters to the lowest bidders.
thats why you listen to it exclusively then?
i mean you cite radio music as the only good music out there.

I don't really listen to radio at all, 9 times outta 10, it's generic pop or songs about romance or sex people think thy can relate to despite often being single.

songs like iron man and bohemian rhapsody(songs you said were examples of good, unique music) are played on the radio all the time

Not in my country they aren't.
Not in my country they aren't.
what country is that?
You only remember the good music, not the bad from a time period. The bad music doesn't live on.

i'm p sure his argument is "dadrock is best form of music"
i'm p sure his argument is "dadrock is best form of music"
im no world explorer but iv never been in an area in my life that didnt have at least one dad rock station

i have multiple dadrock stations to listen to. I get tired of listening to 7 Bridges Road and Highway To Hell after awhile though
Didn't really need to be told this, but informative nonetheless.
Everyone now is bitching about pop music, but it's a lot better than the 80s pop music. woah god those single guys with huge hair singing up super high.
this isn't the aforementioned example, but still. 80s pop:
Personally, I'm a huge blues fan. But the only band that I've liked outside of that genre has been fun. They've got some pretty cool music.
These videos are interesting to those with a musical theory background:

build an FM jammer. 3 AA batteries, an appropriate crystal oscillator, and an antenna will jam nearly any radio
Thats why i want to make experimental music.
Thats why i want to make experimental music.
do it then! the only thing you need to make experimental music with is a microphone and an imagination
you don't even need an imagination if merzbow is any evidence
[editline]25th November 2012[/editline]
or a microphone for that matter
this assumes you use common western scales, eastern scales make use of microtones. multiply the number by about 8 for that, and another 10 for orchestral tunings. it also makes no provision for chords, so multiply by about 1200 for that.
most notably, it makes no mention at all of actually following scales. While a tune like G# F D F# Eb B Gb C# is certainly possible, it's going to sound bad, so cut it by about 99.9% and you've got the actual number of possible songs rather than possible atonal series of noises
You should watch the whole video.
His actual point of it is that the actual mathematical view doesn't matter after all, because we never stray away from what we already have, that much.

Better get your own FM transmitter. it's not a problem at all to get one with few meters of range and it comfortably beats the original signal, sounding clearly on it's own. I have one somewhere around. It needs 2 AA batteries and it's smaller than a pack of cigarettes.
Make the school listen to Rammstein.

If this is your reaction to music that you don't like then you need to re-evaluate yourself. It's only music.
