In addition to the first official images, Entertainment Weekly has revealed more details for Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger including what the bookends will consist of, the main plot, and more. Check it Out! While they gracefully gave our first look at Marvel's much-anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger, via images, Entertainment Weekly dropped a few additional details to the Joe Johnston-directed WW2 adventure. And thanks to Slash Film, you can check out those details below. "We all know the story of Captain America – a scrawny solider named Steve Rodgers undergoes an experiment and becomes a superman. Since Evans got all bulked up for the role, in the scenes where he is scrawny, Johnston will use “clever camera angles, costume trickery and special effects that will digitally reduce Evans’ body or even put his face on a skinny actor”" "The main plot features “Captain America as the leader of a team of elite soldiers from various countries , known in the comic books as the Howling Commandos.” And that mission will certainly deal with the Red Skull (Weaving), Hitler’s head of weaponry and the Tesseract, aka, the Cosmic Cube." "Since Captain America: The First Avenger is the last Marvel film before Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, it has to set up that film. But it’s set several decades in the past. So, the film will begin and end with the classic frozen in ice storyline. Prologue and epilogue style." "The classic comic book costume with the wings on the head and stuff WILL appear in the movie. Evans wears it during one scene where he’s used as a tool for propaganda. He hates it though and afterwards goes to Howard Stark of Stark Industries to help him build the new, more advanced suit that’s in most of the film." With confirmation of the "classic frozen" bookends, we can only assume they'll also make up most of Samuel l. Jackson's screen time, donning the eye patch as Nick Fury. The only thing we don't know is how Fury would know much about the 40s. I find it hard to believe they'll have Samuel l. Jackson around during those time. And they may use Tommy Lee Jones' "Chester Philips" role as the story teller; maybe. What do you think? Anyhow, Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters July 22, next year!
Whats with the rubber feet on Evans?
The movie and video game will be amazing
Whats with the rubber feet on Evans?
Those are boots dumbass lol.
Whats with the rubber feet on Evans?
Because running on concrete hurts.
Hell yes Hugo Weaving as Red Skull? Fuck I cant wait for this
I wonder how Red Skull will look beside standard Hugo's face.
They should've used an older looking actor, and they shouldn't have shaven his chest.

Ok, how the hell did they make him not look like a fruit. That must have taken months to get that costume to look cool.
that concept art for the game looks really cool
His armor looks cool, but I hope they give him some sort of headgear for combat because he does look a little too boyish.
Ok, how the hell did they make him not look like a fruit. That must have taken months to get that costume to look cool.
get out
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/captain_america/news/?a=23654#int1221#int38 That's a little silly.
Hugo makes for a surprisingly good Nazi. I wonder what his German accent will sound like...
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/captain_america/news/?a=23654#int1221#int38 That's a little silly.
Perhaps he'll fight some Nazis while the film is in WW2, but after being unfrozen he will fight HYDRA.
Perhaps he'll fight some Nazis while the film is in WW2, but after being unfrozen he will fight HYDRA.
No, he's going to get thawed out in The Avengers which I don't think they'll be fightning Hydra again.

it would be cool to have him fight nazis, but i dont really mind if he doesnt. just so long as they mention the fact that there are indeed nazis, its all cool with me
You don't get it. The Nazis in the movie are now all HYDRA, they're completely replacing them.
really? thats pretty gay. i mean, even in that episode of justice league where vandal savage travels back in time and takes over the third reich, they at least mention that there are nazis and they show frozen hitler too. is this movie less daring than a kids show?
Nah, they didn't mention the word, "nazi". The frozen hilter was a subtle touch. Perhaps they would do the same for the movie. Who knows?
well, they didnt in that episode, but i think there's an episode later where they meet vandal savage again and somebodys like "hes a nazi war criminal!" [editline]5th November 2010[/editline] yep. "maid of honor" part 1: diana is first introduced to vandal savage at the engagement party and is like "do you have any idea who he is? vandal savage is a nazi war criminal"
That's nice to know...?
isnt it?
i don't get why they block it out, kids are going to find out eventually. everyone should make their children watch the indiana jones films as soon as they turn six.
that concept art for the game looks really cool
Upcoming action-figure. yeah, i know. i dont know why i bothered with that lol. [editline]5th November 2010[/editline] also thats a pretty rad action figure
I could have been a extra in this film :( but i needed to be free for 6 months and i would have been in uni at that time. It was something to do with the lead as well :(
An extra...for 6 months? What, were you going to appear in every scene in the whole film?
