at least looks better than Thor
Agreed I don't see what people here liked about Thor I guess for the same reasons they deluded themselves into thinking Tron: Legacy was a good movie
Thor was awesome. Great year for comic book movies, 2011 is.

The red skull in this looks abit cliche. I saw a glimpse of him and he reminded me of something from power rangers :S

The newest TV spot is ridiculous. Why would you put the ending of the move in a teaser.
Anyone who knows CA's origin story will know how it ends.
Agreed I don't see what people here liked about Thor I guess for the same reasons they deluded themselves into thinking Tron: Legacy was a good movie
I think Thor had three things going for it: First, it made the character Thor believable to the average audience member(me) in our world. So Thor can be standing right along side Tony Stark and not seem ridiculous. Considering the nature of the character, how he looks, his 'power'(a hammer), that's no small accomplishment. It's one thing to make it relatable for comic book readers, it's another to be able to get everyone involved in the character. Second, they got a good actor for the character. I believe that guy can hold his own in scenes with Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, and so on. If he can avoid looking like a weak actor in scenes with Anthony Hopkins, he's doing alright I'd say. Finally, it was a fun movie. It had a sense of humor and a likable hero. For comparison Green Lantern failed, in my opinion, in all three of these things. I think that's why it's dying at the box office. I have high hopes for Captain America. The trailer makes me think they scored in all three of the things I listed.

Well, this movie is coming out five days before my birthday. I think it will be a fun thing to go see on it.
6 more days!
Some reviews http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/captain-america/
Ebert liked it. :psyduck: Definitely watching it now.
Just got back from watching it. All that I can say is.....damn. This is for sure, the greatest marvel movie ever created. When the Avengers logo appeared at the end the whole audience just got up and started screaming and cheering, I can already tell that Avengers is gonna kick so much ass.
For sure not the best Marvel film I've seen, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Relied a bit too much on CG and it shows but it doesn't really dampen the experience in my opinion [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] Avengers looks fantastic, though
The Avengers kicked ass, what did you guys think about the Spiderman reboot trailer? At first I was a cynical asshole, posted about it on Facebook and some guy told me to watch it again, I did and I kind of liked it. I just hate that they're scrapping all of the earlier movies. Also this movie is Columbia, not Paramount so we won't be seeing Spiderman in the inevitable Avengers sequel.
This movie was alright. Better than Thor and Green Lantern, certainly. I was hoping this would be as good as Iron Man, and from the trailers it certainly showed no reason why it wouldn't be. But once you see HYDRA goons fighting it gets really, REALLY cartoony. At no point was I convinced that Red Skull and HYDRA were any sort of threat to anyone, mainly because of how painfully incompetent they were. The design for the HYDRA technology seriously blew and a lot of shit they did didn't make any sense Loads of wasted potential in this film, I am deeply disappointed.
Just got back from watching it. Really liked it. The only thing I really disliked was [sp]how they just killed off Bucky.[/sp]
would have been better if the ending credits had the hulk hogan "I'm a Real American" song playing
I heard some of the movie takes place in Norway, in a church. [sp]Do we only get to see Red Skull enter and take something, or do we get to see some of the Norwegian landscape etc?[/sp]
He just takes something.
The movie was awesome, I loved all the references to Thor and Iran Man. I didn't like how easy they destroyed the Nazi / Hydra though, they were not much of a threat.
". . . I'm not kissin' ya."
Just got back. Man did I like that movie. Tommy Lee has such great dialog its brilliant. Also Hayley Atwell is absolutely gorgeous.
