The most realist vehicle damage model ever, done in CryEngine 3

Is the car made of jello?
"Most realistic damage model ever"
*Hood clips into the corner.*
I know it wasn't meant to be super realistic, but the suspension physics for cars looks like it was tweaked a lot better than rigs was.
ror is basically unplayable and the wheels never grip

I bet you just held down the gas on a slippery surface and quit immediately.

There's less grip than there should be, but the problem here is you can't drive and got angry at it.
This is pretty much RoR with better graphics. The suspension and damage models is pretty much identical if you use some proper made cars
I've seen better.
Is Rig of Rods good? If it is anything like this demo I might give it a try.

Is it possible to get something like this anywhere to play around with?
They could rent this tech out for public-safety ads, too!

Meh i found it hard to find this the most realistic car damage with those collision issues. I know they are working on it but still
Besides the fact that there's a couple collision issues and it seems the truck is made out of rubber and held together with rubber bands it's pretty cool

Better than anything else out there really.

Name something more realistic then.
Name something more realistic then.
A pre-rendered car crash recreation.
And then we add to the "question"
Name something more realistic that isn't pre-rendered then
And then we get a much harder task
A pre-rendered car crash recreation.
Well this isn't pre-rendered so that's kind of a completely different deal.
Well this isn't pre-rendered so that's kind of a completely different deal.
Yes but all you said was to mention anything more realistic and a pre-render is more realistic which is why I added "that isn't pre-rendered" to the quote

Not necessary, everybody knew what it was about.

There. Now the joke is a bit more obvious
Amazing stuff. Also, wasn't this guy a Facepuncher at some point or another?
There. Now the joke is a bit more obvious
If no one gets a joke but you, something is not right.
Jokes are supposed to be funny, you know....

It always makes me happy to see someone use a video I made to sell a game to sell a game <3
I remember this kinda stuff from Fun-Motion.
Existed for years, but I've been drooling to see it in an AAA game for YEARS.
They hired a good team

I saw your name in the 'Users Reading' thing and was reminded of it. :v:
If they keep the engine as mod friendly as ror this will be AMAZING
This is just beautiful.
Meh i found it hard to find this the most realistic car damage with those collision issues. I know they are working on it but still
For it to not have those issue, the engine would have to render every single point of the vehicle, which would amount to tens of billions of calculations every millisecond to cover ever single point of the car. (And just FYI, that isn't exactly possible for a normal computer atm.)
And even regardless of the clipping, it's still far more realistic than anything else.
It's just softbody physics, with a nice damage model. Nothing really new. I want to see them simulate the difference in it's different parts more explicitly, it's a bit too spongy.
It would be fun as hell to see this implemented in a GTA game. It was tried in GTA4 but it was completely unrealistic in a lot of ways.
Oh god, bumper semi's would never be the same! :v:

Probably because it's made by the same guys
