They might as well put them on a star ship in the next game
They might as well put them on a star ship in the next game
I'd be ok with Call of Duty: Space Marines.
It's literally copying this trailer. I'm still interested, because I enjoyed the other Blops games, but saying that it isn't at least very heavily inspired by it is silly.
Aug segregation, secret super soldier experiments that get leaked, killswitches, augmentation impact on sports.
All things that were done before and after DX1 released. I don't see the problem. This is like when people said Black Ops 2 was ripping off MGS4 because it had a PMC in it.

Black Ops 2 was by far my favourite CoD, for MP atleast, but maybe SP too. Truly excited to see some gameplay. I just hope it doesn't stray too far from the fast-paced yet balanced MP of Blops 2.
Aug segregation, secret super soldier experiments that get leaked, killswitches, augmentation impact on sports. I'm sure there'll be plenty more direct comparisons to come.
it's a cyberpunk shooter game with bionic augmentations and transhumanism. what else did you expect them to do with those ideas if not this? i mean there's obviously a lot of deus ex in the visuals but those concepts are just things you put in cyberpunk, it's a genre linked by common ideas on technology and humanity
DX definitely does a better job, but I'm glad transhumanism is starting to gain popularity.
DX definitely does a better job, but I'm glad transhumanism is starting to gain popularity.
I don't think it's fair to say DX "definitely does a better job" when this game isn't even out yet.
This definitely looks interesting. I'm a sucker for Treyarch CoD and will probably pick this up. I absolutely LOVE the whole aug/transhumanist theme, as I played Deus Ex:HR for the first time a few months ago and fell in love with the concept, so that makes it even better. Hoping Zombies isn't some complicated shit this time, though. I play the hell out of WaW because Zombies in that game isn't overly complicated. Would also like to see the return of Co-op campaign, but I know that isn't gonna happen.
i have never been interested in a single cod until just now, this actually caught my attention i remember i played cod ghosts for like 5 minutes before i just said "lmao fuck this"
DX definitely does a better job, but I'm glad transhumanism is starting to gain popularity.
How do you even judge a game that doesn't even have a screenshot out yet.
How do you even judge a game that doesn't even have a screenshot out yet.
Previous track record in regards to story complexity, characters and use of themes. COD doesn't give a flying shit about genuine story and characters it is entirely action foremost going from one setpiece to the other.
Previous track record in regards to story complexity, characters and use of themes. COD doesn't give a flying shit about genuine story and characters it is entirely action foremost going from one setpiece to the other.
CoD 4, WaW, BO1, BO2 and AW
It's taking a different approach to transhumanism than DX. In DX, it was something clearly superior so people with money were glad to jump on it and those without were willing to go through great lengths to get an edge over others in the workplace, but it ostracized those without cybernetics and it created an us vs them scenario. BO3 seems to be showing that a normal person won't willingly replace their natural, healthy limbs with cybernetics so the soldiers willingly undergoing limb replacement is something very, very taboo.
CoD 4, WaW, BO1, BO2 and AW
If you honestly thought those were well crafted stories then god help you.
Deus Ex looks better than this game. I think Deus Ex is more centered around the technology/transhumanism/robotics idea and ramifications than COD is.
What the fuck are you talking about, we don't have gameplay for either. We don't even have screenshots for CoD yet. This mindless hate for CoD on this forum is so stupid.
If you honestly thought those were well crafted stories then god help you.
BO1 and BO2 were good, AW falls apart near the end but isn't terrible. [editline]23rd April 2015[/editline] Important note that this is from the team that did BO1 and BO2.
If you honestly thought those were well crafted stories then god help you.
It doesn't need to be overly complex or innovative to be a good story. They were telling the story of a bunch of soldiers doing their job protecting their countries, and they did a good job at it.
Previous track record in regards to story complexity, characters and use of themes. COD doesn't give a flying shit about genuine story and characters it is entirely action foremost going from one setpiece to the other.
Previous track record? Previous track record doesn't mean shit, ghosts was one of the worst cods yet but the next year we got aw. Aw is arguably one of the best cods. Also treyarc has an awesome track record. Waw, bo1, and bo2 are some the best received games in the series because they're always trying something new and they always nail it. That's fine if you don't like cod , but there's no reason to bash it because "muh augmentations" and "muh dues ex". Deus ex isn't the first game to use it in its plot line, and with the way things are going in the world it won't be the last. Wait until we see gameplay. Hell, wait until you play it before you totally dismiss it.
If you honestly thought those were well crafted stories then god help you.
Of course the guy with the Deus Ex avatar is getting pissy over a Call of Duty game having the audacity to touch on transhumanism. Just let Treyarch tell their fucking story. Christ.
Previous track record in regards to story complexity, characters and use of themes.
If you honestly thought those were well crafted stories then god help you.
Human Revolution isn't exactly a pioneer in storytelling either.
what a well-done trailer, this is the first time i've been hyped for a CoD game [editline]24th April 2015[/editline] And i'm already sick of people bitching about Deus Ex
That was one of the best teases for a game in quite some time imo.
This has pretty much nothing in common with Deus Ex
Will they bring in drive-able vehicles in multiplayer? Seriously, the last Call of Duty game to have vehicles in it was World at War multiplayer. There hasn't been a tank or jeeps in a COD game since ever.
CoD 4, WaW, BO1, BO2 and AW
Remember how nearly everything in cod4 was awesome? Grenade launchers weren't that big of a problem, multiplayer wasn't a clusterfuck of clusterfucks, singleplayer was good... Is cod4s multiplayer still active? [editline]24th April 2015[/editline]
So about the last act of Human Revolution, is that the height of storytelling?
Please don't mention the end, please don't mention the end, please don't mention the powerpoint presentation in the end....
This has pretty much nothing in common with Deus Ex
Augmentation and Illuminati though :downs: Total ripoff :downs:
