I think Nationalism is bad. It causes just as much problems as racism, sexism, and patriotism. Nationalism is just another personally pointless idea we attach to ourselves to make ourselves seem better than others simply because of something we have no choice in really. I consider myself a citizen of the world. As an American. I love the ideals that America was founded upon, and the significance that we have had on the world but I am sorely disappointed with Americas current state of affairs and that the potential of the American nation seems to be wasted these days. But even though I don't always agree with the decisions and direction, I still honour our history and the ideals of the men who founded our nations and respect where we have come from. In reality I feel like I have no ties to a single country. Like I said, I consider myself of citizen of the world, a son of humanity. Patriotism, though fine in moderation, is a short step away from blind nationalism, which is nothing but a disease.
