That's why Texas is better than the rest of the south. You only see Confed. Flags while passing through the real deep hick towns. Usually only on peoples private property.
You see muddy trucks and hunters all the time, but they don't bother me, it's not my business what they do for fun.
You're gonna see that happen in any major urban area.
I never said I wouldn't, just speaking from personal experience. lol
Angsty little fuck
Yeah I live near LA, you have to wait until 2-4ish in the morning to finally see stars in the sky. Lights drown them out, usually.
Oh. Still, he doesn't have much reason to complain seeing how he doesn't live in 'Merica.
The only time nationality is important is when it comes down to wars.

Light pollution?
The effect of the wasted millions of watts worth of light from cities and large towns. The big glow over cities? That's light pollution. It disturbs the local animal's perception of daytime and nighttime (thus contributes to declining animal populations) and means that when I move into the City next month I WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE THE GOD DAMN STARS.
I've definately contemplated it.
I would take anywhere away from this hick shit part of the country I live in. Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, Rockies, fuck I'd even take Alaska.
Southwest Tennessee/Northeast Mississippi
I've lived in the same part of the country since the day I was born, I've traveled all across Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and North/South Carolina.
They're all the same, except the cities (Atlanta fucking rocks).
I've been to my mother's family reunions (she came from a hick shit family, but somehow they gave rise to an intelligent woman who was the first in the family to go to college and actually make something of herself). The reunion actually had a tobacco spitting contest. Yeah.
"Hurr durr look at mee in mah jacked up furd f-150, I put a shitload of shit into it so it rides really high and I can drive thru mud in it real gud" :banjo:
Granted, not everyone down here is like that, but there are tons of rednecks like the ones I'm describing.
Yes the south sucks ass. America as a whole, does not. They probably arnt even real Americans, just "the south will rise again!!!!" people. I live in Florida. It blows. I wanna move to New York. But I love my country.
Mudding and hunting are more popular than baseball among the kids around here.
Also, they flew a confederate flag next to the American flag and Tennessee flag at my grandmother's retirement home.
The catholic school I attend flew one until a black family got upset.
You probably live in an urban/suburban area in the south. I live in a small-ish town, and it's filled with these redneck fucks.
I live in Montgomery, Texas, est. 1837, pop. 489. We have buildings here that are older than the state of California(probably).
Nationalism is fine. I'm Irish and I don't care that we've got a reputation for being crazy drunken bastards. I love the history, the mythology, the culture and the land.

Everyone loves the Irish.

wah
I think Nationalism is bad. It causes just as much problems as racism, sexism, and patriotism.
Nationalism is just another personally pointless idea we attach to ourselves to make ourselves seem better than others simply because of something we have no choice in really.
[editline]01:38AM[/editline]
There is a difference in being a Nationalist, and simply loving the culture of ones area. Culture is much more important than the name of some fucking piece of land.
Stubborn libertarian, proud American here. I see nothing wrong with a deep-seated love of my country, because something is very wrong if I'd rather be somewhere else. Thankfully, I'm happy here.
As for the Confederate flag...I detest your views and they can burn in hell, but I will fight to the death for your right to express them.

Pop. 489 is an exaggeration.
Despite its relatively small footprint of one square mile, more than 30,000 people in the surrounding communities consider themselves residents of the historic town of Montgomery.
Anyways, the small towns I'm talking about are Mason, Tennessee.
About 1000 people live there, and it's famous for one thing: a big-ass federal prison in (literally; I've been there) the middle of a soybean field.
I remember a year ago I went to a gun expo in dulles (Northern virginia) and when i walked in, i was greeted to my left by a stand selling Nazi ww2 stuff, such as helmets, pins, hats, weapons, etc. and i thought to myself "Ok, ok, it's just historical, that's all, nothing wrong" then i walked around a bit, and i saw across from the Glock stand, they had airsoft guns, and near the airsoft guns, they had a bunch of anti-obama bumper stickers and i thought to myself "It's ok, just someones political opinion, doesn't necesarily mean anything racist..." then i moved near the gigantic fucking handgun stand and was greeted by the sight of

I read in national geographic that light pollution could be cut down by like 80% or some ungodly number if lightbulb/pole/fixture designers just designed their products so that the light gets directed downwards and not out from all sides

I consider myself a citizen of the world.
As an American. I love the ideals that America was founded upon, and the significance that we have had on the world but I am sorely disappointed with Americas current state of affairs and that the potential of the American nation seems to be wasted these days.
But even though I don't always agree with the decisions and direction, I still honour our history and the ideals of the men who founded our nations and respect where we have come from.
In reality I feel like I have no ties to a single country. Like I said, I consider myself of citizen of the world, a son of humanity. Patriotism, though fine in moderation, is a short step away from blind nationalism, which is nothing but a disease.

Ehh, that's what Wikipedia said. Thought it seemed a little low.
Well I hold dual citizenship for France and the United States (mom's American, dad's French, I was born in Paris), so I guess I kinda associate with both nationalities.

Mason is so small it doesn't even have a website.
About 1000-1200 people live there. How do I know? I visit the damned place every few weeks when I'm visiting my grandparents.
Most forms of Nationalism is dumb and founded on myth and old history. The past is for learning from, not for adoring passionately.
