No it isn't. We have the right to burn our own flag. To burn a flag is to express that right, to use it and not take it for granted. To recognize that, unless we use that right, it will not always be there. It is a celebration of the freedom of dissension.
nigga this be true.
Egypt is most definitely not a third-world country.
Oh, but it is.
Obviously nationalism isn't a big deal if you arn't some jingo/racist.
Nationalism is used as an excuse for far more evil than good. Iraq war much? That said, I have no real intention of moving out of the U.S.. Citizenship applications in any country worth living in are practically impossible.
I love my country, especially it's history. But I dislike the current government (the Netherlands). I also like my nature as a Frisian, and the seperate language we have. My nationality is something I will always say with pride and will protect, but it doesn't constrain me to live in my country. When I've finished enough educations here I'll be moving to the United Kingdom.
Cry me a river... China pollutes TEN times more then us.. We are a working country to a degree. (China produces more America never produces shit because our laws on business is too extreme forcing people to conduct business outside of the states because it's cheaper.) Anyways, Proud to be an American!:fsmug:
Uh, no.
Patriotism is foolishness. I dont see how any of us could be proud to be an xxx because all of our governments suck hard.
That said, I have no real intention of moving out of the U.S.. Citizenship applications in any country worth living in are practically impossible.
If you're determined to live in another country it really isn't that hard. It just takes a long time.
I like my country, it's fair, sure there's a lot of shit that's corrupt and laws I don't agree with but it's better than living in Afghanistan or China. I'd never fight in a war unless the U.S. was at the risk of invasion... not worth it to go die in some sandpit for oil companies.
Australia is fairly unpatriotic. We have pride in out country, but we're not fanatic about it. Most people are just indifferent.
Well his home country attempted to shove him in a stove so of course he's going to be biased against nationalism.
Biased? No. Right however? Quite so. Anyway, i'm American, and i don't care about any country really, but if i had to pick id move to the UK, Being a brit would be awesome
Yeah...... um.... shit what to say?...... NEW ZEALAND WILL FUCK YOU ALL UP WITH OUR ....OUR.....Our....ouurrrrrr........ SHEEP!
Unchecked nationalism leads to World Wars. A little bit of pride in your country is a great thing.
Nationalism is the bane of humanity.
I wish I lived in some small out-of-the-way country. Like Belgium. Yeah Belgium sounds good
I'm so Nationalist I convince myself England is still an Empire. Don't say otherwise, we still have Gibraltar.

I like being Norrlandic, but as it's still an part of Sweden I guess I will go after my "patriotism" for Sweden. Nonexistent. I like (and can be considered patriotic over) Norrland, but I think it should be an independent nation, Sweden however I do not like.
Nationalism is shameful, Patriotism is right next to it.
Nationalism is shameful, Patriotism is right next to it.
Overall, this.
I, for one see patriotism as a rather positive thing that just makes society a bit better by giving everyone one thing they can relate to. However, I don't think nationalism is the way to go. Also
French retards represent
Retourner l'Alsace-Lorraine pls.

Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind.

Another brilliant quote by Einstein. Very true. Nationalism is essentially just blind loyalty to ones country. Blind loyalty is NEVER a good thing. You shouldn't simply be for things because they're, 'your country's demonym here'. You should be for or against an idea based on how good or bad an idea it is.
Rednecks annoy me, super conservatives annoy me, and extreme liberals annoy me. I hate Oregon with a passion, it's full of both, the west part are hippies who want peace and love (NOT GOING TO HAPPEN), and the east part are full of rednecks in small towns who carry around guns all the time
I'm an American, although I'd like to move to Ireland or Scotland.
Amen to that! I'm proud to be Scottish and would serve frontline if it came to it.
I've never lived in the country where I'm 'from' (passport wise) but I've lived all around the world in my childhood due to the fact that my Dad's job required him to move around a lot. (if you want a list: Kuwait, Suadi Arabia, Sweden, USA, Canada, U.A.E, India, Japan, Norway, and right now Jordan.) I personally believe that patriotism and nationalism are quite useless and idiotic ideals to pursue. There ain't no benefit from either. EDIT: if anyone is interested, Suadi Arabia was the wost and Sweden was the best :smug:
Sweden is a shit country, but I like being here. I allways cheer for sweden in all sports. [editline]05:41PM[/editline] Even though we never win anything besides hockey
People need to cut the shit and look past the idiots in America and see the third of the populous that are productive honest citizens that America SHOULD be known for.
The same goes for the entire world. It's the loudmouth fuckwits who make the most noise, fuelling stereotypes. We've got Westboro and it's ilk in the states, Islamist extremists in the middle east, the BNP in the UK... every country has its jingoistic fools kicking up a fuss, trying to perpetuate the myth that they are superior to all. It's not race, culture or belief that creates conflict; it's arrogance, stupidity and greed.
