walk respect u talkin 2 me???????
That song doesn't even have a breakdown! Well... Sorta. Contrary to popular belief it is also not the only song they've done. :[ For massive breakdowns try:
The breakdown sounds like this The vid wasn't as funny though.
I can't decide whether they actually make music, or if they just recorded a bunch of guys shitting their pants. Hilarious.
fine edit: I didn't rate you disagree btw it was probably silverhammer or iand
Wasn't me. Also, the second half or so of Charles Bronson's Discocrappy has some sick breakdownzz.
Wasn't me. Also, the second half or so of Charles Bronson's Discocrappy has some sick breakdownzz.
that's the powerviolenceish half
Yeah. On a related note, it's worth buying the Complete Discocrappy on CD for the liner notes alone.
The breakdown sounds like this The vid wasn't as funny though.
what is this... I don't even... I don't know anything about these people, but someone please GOD tell me that that video wasn't supposed to be serious.
I'm pretty sure it is, they even made two
This has to be a troll post. [editline]12:42PM[/editline]
Softish breakdown starts at 1:15 or so, heavy ass breakdown starts at 1:37
A proper breakdown.
What makes that part stand out? I don't hear anything particular about it to name it a specific style. :raise:
How often do you hear a slow chugging riff like that used by non-core bands
Yeah. On a related note, it's worth buying the Complete Discocrappy on CD for the liner notes alone.
Where can I buy a copy? I've been wanting it for ages.
Softish breakdown starts at 1:15 or so, heavy ass breakdown starts at 1:37
That was proper good
Also, another good breakdown in Death metal would be Entrails of You by Suffocation. Go to about 2:55
Well, if that was a breakdown, then I was right in saying that I don't like breakdowns. That breakdown was probably the most boring part of that song. I gave up about 1:15 because it was so boring. Thanks for confirming my dislike of metalcore, though, Silver. :c00l: [editline]02:20PM[/editline]
How often do you hear a slow chugging riff like that used by non-core bands
A lot. I love chugging riffs. Groove metal, baby. :smug: [editline]02:23PM[/editline] Some doom metal, too.
A lot. I love chugging riffs. Groove metal, baby. :smug: [editline]02:23PM[/editline] Some doom metal, too.
Yeah but in those instances the riff usually fits with the rest of the song, so it isn't a breakdown as such.
Yeah but in those instances the riff usually fits with the rest of the song, so it isn't a breakdown as such.
That's my point. It's not a breakdown. I think you're missing my point. I'm saying I don't like breakdowns.
That's my point. It's not a breakdown. I think you're missing my point. I'm saying I don't like breakdowns.
Is what not a breakdown? The song in the OP does have a breakdown, and I was just explaining why.
Is what not a breakdown? The song in the OP does have a breakdown, and I was just explaining why.
:sigh: [editline]02:34PM[/editline] What I'm trying to say is that I don't like breakdowns like the one in the OP. I do like chugging riffs in songs where they fit, like Groove and doom metal. In my opinion, that breakdown in the OP's song does not fit with the song and detracts from the value of it, making it boring. Most songs with breakdowns, in my opinion, suffer the same thing. They use breakdowns instead of another mechanic, and detract from the value of the song and making it boring. This is why I don't like breakdowns.
You pretty much said you didn't know what a breakdown was, so I explained what one was. I know you don't like breakdowns. What's the issue.
You pretty much said you didn't know what a breakdown was, so I explained what one was. I know you don't like breakdowns. What's the issue.
Just... Just let it go.
In my opinion, that breakdown in the OP's song does not fit with the song
That's the whole point of a breakdown, otherwise it wouldn't be a breakdown.
That's the whole point of a breakdown, otherwise it wouldn't be a breakdown.
I said let it go!! And that's my point! It doesn't fit with the song. Why call it a breakdown, when "poorly inserted musical mechanic" would fit better? The song would probably sound better to me if that breakdown wasn't there. This is my point! Now please just let it go, this isn't accomplishing anything but clarifying my opinions on breakdowns, which is not what this thread is for.
This has to be a troll post. [editline]12:42PM[/editline] A proper breakdown.
Good job reading my thread now please get out of it [editline]12:20PM[/editline]
I said let it go!!
Also, another good breakdown in Death metal would be Entrails of You by Suffocation. Go to about 2:55
Suffocation has always had amazing breakdowns, just check out Effigy of the Forgotten. That album has one breakdown or more on every song, their heavy as lead and they blend with the song.
What makes that part stand out? I don't hear anything particular about it to name it a specific style. :raise:
Well it's the breakdown he's talking about :downs:
