Thank you. Now I'll just go and turn on my "impossible" internet and use my "impossible" personal computer to say that impossible is a word that I live by.
If anything, I would suggest at least hybridizing helicopter-like rotating blades with a gas filled balloon. That way, you need less gas, a smaller balloon, etc. Of course, OP will never do this, but assuming someone was actually able to.
[/QUOTE Just sayin, impossible is what they said to Bill Gates. Come to think of it, I think the Wright Brothers heard their fair share of the word.
Either I've met you before or you nabbed this from the thread where this comment belongs. [editline]02:03PM[/editline] I'd say your a dumbass, but considering your pic is a GIF of Justin Bieber, I can tell this isn't your first big mistake.
Do you have Down's syndrome
There's already a thread about this, therefore you are late
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=958915
:smug:
There's already a thread about this, therefore you are late :smug:
... Check OP of the other thread, would you kindly?
Ah, I love how they call me a child when I specifically state "SERIOUS Airship Discussion" and they bring all kinds of spam and flame to my thread.
.. You're asking a fucking internet forum that's based around a god damned computer game on "serious airship construction". Here's an idea, go find a fucking forum that's devoted to aerodynamics, and ask them. Or, better yet, go try it and get yourself killed, because people like you take up more space than you're worth.
This is fucking stupid. It will never work, the zionists will shoot it down.
... Check OP of the other thread, would you kindly?
Quit trolling.
Oh good. Afraid you wouldn't catch that.
Notice how I got it off your quote, therefore would have checked the thread ;)))))))
You're gonna need a LOT of helium.
U mad?
I got your back bro. Money isn't an issue, so lets brainstorm at what he needs. Lots of money, lots of helium, lots of people to build it, lightweight material, time, and less than 50 IQ. Hes got a good start with the IQ part.
Just sayin, impossible is what they said to Bill Gates. Come to think of it, I think the Wright Brothers heard their fair share of the word.
I implied the key word "you" for a reason in my response. You lack the skills, knowledge, and materials needed to accomplish an aircraft of the characteristics you imagine.
You should have started from planning the ship. Then you have to find light kind of wood, get its mass, compute required amount of He... Gonna cost you a lot. I may add that the material of which sails are made might be quite good idea, it's sturdy and should prevent leaks. Also rated optimistic.

For all you know, I own a few stock certificates for Microsoft. You know nothing about me and your making witty assumptions based off of the majority of people with "impossible' ideas.
I made a quick concept rendition. This design should be able to carry around 10 Persons. It also has a Sauna.
Also, you might want to buy the helium ASAP, it's a non-renewable resource, so it's getting more and more expensive...
This really isn't viable without an engineering degree, or, in all honesty, a business degree(just manage a business designed to do this, get government grants, etc)
Ah, I love how they call me a child when I specifically state "SERIOUS Airship Discussion" and they bring all kinds of spam and flame to my thread.
Thank you for putting yourself on the high horse so nobody can attack your intellectuality. Fact is you're 18 and don't have the resources or time. Get a job.
Who needs logic and a realistic perspective when you can kick reason to the curb and go beyond the impossible?
Nice assumption. For all you know, I own a few stock certificates for Microsoft. I don't know why you're so defensive about other people's opinions.
Nice assumption. For all you know, I own a few stock certificates for Microsoft. Pretty cool bro. Also
For one, I'm 18, been so since august. 2, who says I'm not saving up every penny I make for a few years?
It might work if you make it very small and have hot air and not hydrogen.
You should have started from planning the ship. Then you have to find light kind of wood, get its mass, compute required amount of He... Gonna cost you a lot. Have two helium balloons and one balloon that's "empty", (_helium_empty_helium_) basically you have a heating system attached to the air/empty balloon, and when you pump hot air into the middle balloon it heats the other two, causing the helium to expand and move faster, thus increasing the lift capacity. For lowering the ship, simply use the same method for hot air balloons: have a hatch in the top which can be pulled open to release hot air.

Use balsa instead of pine, it's much lighter.
