My ass. Half Life 2 looks better than that, and it was 2 years older.
Oblivion was an open ended game with a fairly large game world. Half life 2 was a linear shooter.
Ehhh, I see your point.
Edit: It probably would be more accurate to say "It had great graphics at that time for an open world sandbox game."
Will Bethesda add more armors in the DLC's?
Probably, I mean generally bethesda add new stuff, unlike infinity ward and their stupid $15 maps that look like I made them when I was bored one day.
Will Bethesda add more armors in the DLC's?
The problem is that Oblivion is excessively colorful and Skyrim is excessively dark.
It should have been something in between...
With the SDK coming out, that can be alleviated.
I want to get Skyrim, but I still haven't beaten Morrowind or Oblivion. I'm midway in both games, but I get distracted with all the other games I get during Steam sales.
Dammit dammit dammit
Can't wait for horse armor

I don't think it's even humanly possible to beat Morrowind.
I laughed more than I should've at the Oblivion Glass armor.
Skyrim is excessively dark
How so
It's a lot darker than Oblivion because they actually figured out how shadows work, for the most part
Alright, finished recording the new footage. Improved version coming up soon!

Lol yeah, oblivion was more or less fullbright.
I find that caves in skyrim are much better lit than they were in oblivion, always played kajjit for the night vision so all caves i remember in oblivion were blueish.
New improved version with a lot better lighting.

I still think Morrowind's armors were better looking.
But fuck, skyrim sure beats oblivion's armors. Now when I have played skyrim oblivion looks so frigging stupid.
Informative for me. Yet, could you share the console commands to manipulate the camera in various ways? Would love to have 'em.

tfc for free cam. tm to get rid of the HUD.
GLASS... OH GOD WHAT
I never progressed far enough through Oblivion to get the glass set but I always assumed it'd look similar to Morrowind.
the main problem is oblivion is pretty much 100% shiny high fantasy while skyrim bases on nordic mythology which is much darker, it also reflects in the way the armor looks
anyway i cant believe how bad oblivion actually looked, so incredibly generic and dull
I fucking love the imperial armour in Skyrim, the whole Roman style, which is weird because I despised the legion armour in Fallout NV.

Yeah I know, just shows how a good art style can go a long way.
Now that I look at it, Oblivion's armor is the cartooniest looking shit out of all the Elder Scrolls Series. I mean seriously, just LOOK AT THAT GLASS ARMOR
"Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!"
Personally out of all the armors I like Morrowind's the best

Glass armor in Morrowind was the best glass armor. Little tiny shards of glass coming out of the armor made you look like a fucking badass.
Dwemer armor had a certain charm to it, but the first time I saw someone in full dwemer armor I ended up stabbing them with my sword repeatedly because it made the person look like a monster.

Glass armor looks pretty badass but not a fan of the dwarven armor. Looks bit too weird imo.
I laughed more than I should've at the Oblivion Glass armor.
For me it was like a laugh then a grumble as i thought to myself "fuck i used to wear that shit!"

Fun fact, in oblivion the heavy armor is the best looking armor.
Also should I do a comparison between the weapons ? Rate this post agree if yes, disagree if no.

You still used steel plate instead of steel armor, but other than that good job
You still used steel plate instead of steel armor, but other than that good job
The steel armor in oblivion looks more like a plate armor, so I just decided to compare it with that. I don't think that the standard steel armor looks that good.
Going from Morrowind to Oblivion was harsh. Oblivion lowered the bar. It did. Morrowind had a prehistoric combat system and was generally clunky, but it was a work of art. The writing in Morrowind's books is beautiful. The fact that every character's dialogue was written and not recorded made the NPCs much richer in depth. Nothing can capture the mix of Roman, middle-European colonies clashing with the native land's alien, insectoid aesthetic. Skyrim hails the return of the quality and strong art I longed for. OP's video is a good example. It's not the same as Morrowind, which I hold on a pedestal, but games in general tend to cater to a more hyperactive audience now. I can deal with that as long as it's like this from now on.
so so so looking forward to DLC.
The armor in Skyrim is outstandingly modeled, especially over Oblivion's, but christ on a ten speed it's all made of gray, even your skin. The Elven armor especially suffered in the great saturation purge, but the mod community should have some tweaks for us in the near future.
