some pics of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the movie don't look like Joseph Gordon-levitt
I don't see how he looks like Bruce Willis, even with all those prosthetic I don't see it, he still looks like JGL to me.
And there we go, last teaser: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=89093
Tomorrow will be the full TRAILER
You can't really look for a body in the past... In the future they've simply vanished without a trace.
Wouldn't the police find the body in the past, investigate it and keep a record? If anything its making it easier for the police because it's giving them a 30 year heads up that the victim is going to get killed by the mob. The basic idea seems good but I don't really see much logic in it.

Uh if the victim is less then 30 there's not gonna be any way to ID it and they don't know about time travel so they wouldn't know what the fuck to do with the body, let alone warn someone in the future they're going to die. What would they do with the record? Assuming they even find the body.
But this is dumb discussing this when the movie will probably explain it for us.
so..what happens when he kills his future-self?

already liking this movie heueheu
so..what happens when he kills his future-self?
I don't know what will happen in the movie, but I would start planning for when my past-self comes to kill me.
I'm really wondering how they are going to handle the time paradoxes. So mob finds out some guy is a rat, they send a hitman back in time. Now that the rat is dead, mob isn't going to be in danger and won't have to send the hitman back in time again. If these hitmen are then supposed to come back from the past they have to be ready the boss won't remember sending them away. Don't tell me the assassinated person just magically vanishes and the hitman just gets paid once he returns.
What
it's the rat sent back in time, not the hitman.
Oh wait, now I get it. But shouldn't the poster say "Hunted by your past, haunted by your future"?
Yeah that's been bugging me too. idk, they are supposedly fighting each other in the film.
Who recognises who then? I assume Bruce does first.
Sounds good, I may have to see this.

the way it's shot is very reminiscent of brick at least to me. the feel of it in general is similar.
i guess i'm gonna get the fix i want.

So four questions:
1. Why would the mob want to "close the loop"?
2. Why would the loopers have a basket for their guns?
3. Why doesn't the mob send back the secret for time travel, or would that result in a paradox?
4. Assuming the above question results in a paradox, why wouldn't the mob go the weeping angels route and send them eighty years back and let them live to death?
idk why I'm trying to answer the first two when they're probably gonna be answered by the movie but whatever
1. Well, the future is when time travel is invented. I guess they don't want anyone around to blab about the specifics of how it'll be used when it comes about? Or someone around who could blab about who was sent back? idk. Maybe he just fucked up.
2. idk wait for movie
3. Paradoooox.
4. Maybe there's a limit to how far back they can go and also because that's a really dumb idea and full of paradox potential. What's to stop the person they sent back in time from finding the mob people's parents and killing them?
there was actually a reasonable explanation for the gun basket i came up with earlier. kinda forgot though
maybe the guns are shared and thus harder to trace. also the guns they use could be disposables.
also get a really good look at the guns the looper uses to kill their target. they all look like they were made from scratch, possibly only able to fire one-a few bullets and no way of reloading outside of taking it apart.
really we could speculate about it all night but i think postal is right. we should just wait till the movie comes out.
Looks really great. Hope it delivers.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks so DIFFERENT.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks so DIFFERENT.
His voice sounds different then it does in interviews, much higher pitched.
Gun basket might just make it easier to clean/dispose several guns at once, that way one isn't floating around to get traced back because you keep them all in one place.

4. Assuming the above question results in a paradox, why wouldn't the mob go the weeping angels route and send them eighty years back and let them live to death?
I thought about this and jumped to pretty much the same conclusion as postal, what with the paradoxes. Weeping Angels get away with it because they don't have bloodlines or ancestors that can be affected by someone being sent back in time. Outside of the human timeline, if you will.
Is this emily blunt's first serious role?
needless to say, she's purdy
Now that I figured out the concept few days ago and seeing the trailer I'm really looking forward to the movie.
Just seen the trailer and I don't get it. Why do they send people back in time to get killed?
Just seen the trailer and I don't get it. Why do they send people back in time to get killed?
If they simply kill them in their own time, there's always going to be some incriminating evidence. By sending them into the past, the people have simply vanished.
This film is very high on my need to watch list. Think I'm more excited for this than The Dark Knight Rises.
after thinking about it the guns they use look like they only shoot one bullet. well the looper guns they use to kill their target.
i mean look at them they're just these long tubes, i don't even think i saw a handle on it.

Why not kill them and then send them to the past?
I think this movie can be good if it doesn't take itself to seriously.
well maybe the guns are from the future too so they need to be in a certain place for the future guys to take them back
