Are you kidding? Evolution is fucking amazing, it's like the most important force in the organic world, the reason why we have amazing creatures like the platypus, octopus, crazy stuff like that and it's also why life can thrive in the most extreme climates (wink wink extraterrestrial life). There's also crazy stories of evolution vs man (and sometimes other stuff but mostly man) and how fucking versatile and adaptable evolution can make species and organisms.
It might be my love for biology talking but evolution is incredible.

I am a biologist myself, and while I agree macro-evolution is simply amazing. I was referring to micro evolution, which after spending weeks just to make it where a different portion of a fly population has red eyes does not really hold my interest.
Comparing macro-evolution with micro-evolution is to me like comparing your favorite song to a single note from that song, while the note is required for the song to exist it is in itself rather boring.

Then again I am a field biologist, so the genetics side is not very interesting to me. I have always been more interested in what I can actually observe directly in the field. I can most certainly see why a geneticist would get excited over micro-evolution, so I may have let my own personal biases influence my explanation.
