Its god damn crap just as the mod is. Why cant they just use a different engine like say the one arma 3 uses? They'll never make a proper game with the arma 2 engine.
Well I guess it's a decent base to work with but imo looks nowhere near finished or a release that deserves to ask for money at least. Although I'm guessing this was just showing off their early work, well I hope it is.
I can't imagine it's easy working with the Arma engine but still...I'd say the game is unplayable, especially with those zombies being 10 metres away and still hitting you. Will be nice with more explorable houses and hidden loot, that's definatly a welcome feature.
With a lot more work it could be good. Sadly not peaking my interest for Standalone so far
I hate when uploaders do this.
Anyone know why this happens? Is it because they upload it in Mono?
Yeah. it's gonna only record on one side because it's in mono.
I thought it was actually on the "Take on Helicopters" engine?

Whoops, they're just borrowing some things from the ToH engine like Volumetric Clouds and vehicle stuff. It's on a really modified Arma 2 engine.
By really modified, I mean the guts are almost completely stripped out.

It is.

DayZ will utilize the Take On Helicopter engine, which is a branch of the Arma II Operation Arrowhead engine Real Virtuality[4]. The engine is being heavily modified, including code from Arma III.
