http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpzu3HM2CIo&feature=player_embedded Personally I think this is exactly what is wrong with tech producers these days: all focus is on 'style' and no mention of the actual specs at all. Oh well.
I can't stand keyboards like that.
Looks like an iPad with two smart covers.
The thing is that computer technology has advanced to a stage where you won't find a new PC that isn't capable of running at least 30 instances of Excel or Powerpoint, alongside Skype, a browser on Facebook, and a media player without issues, so to the general public the specs don't really matter at all. The only people that really care, are gamers, or people who do processor-heavy work, like animators or video editors, and they know how to look up the specs anyway.
I can't stand keyboards like that.
There's a tactile one too.
microsoft's marketing is so weird you can't apply the wubwub theories of marketing action games and films to tablets. it's so self-indulgent and over-the-top it's laughable
a lot like their previous ad
360 NO SCOPE KEYBOARD FLIP
I would rather shit on a table and use that as a computer
I would rather shit on a table and use that as a computer
Meh, it looks decent enough.
Microsoft needs to stop trying to be Apple.
I'll stick to my iPad. Honestly, if I wanted something like this I'd go for a laptop instead. I consider tablets to be a lounging device, so I wouldn't even bother doing anything other than watch movies or browse the web with them. If I were going to be using other applications it likely wouldn't be while I'm lounging so I'd more than likely prefer sitting at a desktop or using a proper laptop. Does look pretty slick though, I should add.
That is literally the stupidest thing ever. Just get a laptop if you want windows on the go.
What are you talking about? Did you even watch the event?
do you even lift?
scariest fucking tablet ever
Something about this thing seems very pretentious to me. Sure, I can see how having a tablet that turns into a laptop can be useful. However, for the most part, I can't fathom why Facepunchers are so excited about it, considering we're all a bunch of gaming teenagers who look for spec-heavy computers. I can't imagine why many of you would even need something like this.
Do we even know the specs yet? We shouldn't judge anything on this tiny snippet, it actually looks quite nice and sleek and the keyboard is an attachment so the actual tablet could be fucking amazing and blow everything else out of the water, we shall see
Goodbye Apple
I kinda like the way IE looks in that video. Looks a lot less cluttered.
To be honest their other Microsoft Surface was more exciting

As for the Windows Pro (x86/x64) tablet, it can run whatever the fuck you want - it has an ivy bridge i5, usb 3.0 port, an SD card slot, I think 164GB hard drive on the bigger one, a stylus with 600DPI tracking that magnetically attaches for storage, etc. EDIT: my bad, 128GB. It looks alright. My only issue is that the video sort of implied that having a fold out stand on the back is groundbreaking.

Needs are like, food and shit) it. But buying useless shit that you don't need seems to be a trend in our modern society, and it seems even Facepunch is not immune to it.
I don't know, when I bring my small netbook to my uni I feel like a tablet (and windows+tablet+ USB port= extremely practical) would do a better job at that since I don't use it for other stuff than the typical Office, Facethings and flash games. But this is even better, it's a tablet, but it's like a laptop, and the Pro version looks really good, and I have never been a fan of Apple products. And I love how that thing looks, as a student, I approve.

It has a cut down OS that will basically not be compatible with anything you use on your desktop. Surface = a desktop computer in a tablet form. Try and understand that this can do literally anything your desktop can do, albeit with likely lower specs. My mom is considering getting one as her next computer, to do her accounting and management work on it - the great thing is all of the software that she used on her desktop, will work on this.
I like to write things and not being hooked to a desk is nice. Laptop is heavy enough, so a pad is nice when it's just scribblings.
Meh, I never felt the need for one simply because I don't always feel it necessary to dick around in front of a screen all the damn time. I perfectly content with not being able to use a computer on the go. I simply never needed one that much. Also, I guess I can see the advantage of this over the iPad's terrible OS, but it's not enough to make me buy it. I'm just saying, before buying anything, consider if you really, REALLY want it that bad enough, especially with something as expensive as a tablet. I've seen people who buy iPods and iPads and then barely use them. Same goes for games, electronics, and just about anything. Just some helpful advice. I've been able to save up hundreds doing this, and I'm 14, have no real profession and usually only make money from chores, so think of what a full grown person with a job can save!

It can be incredibly useful (especially for those in engineering or business) to have all of your files handy, and while a laptop can serve that purpose well too they can be pretty clunky and even though I have one of the lighter laptops with the rest of the stuff I have to carry around everywhere it can still be a pretty heavy load. I mean if you're only 14, you definitely don't need anything like this, but when you go to college you might change your mind.
