They have a severe lack of old classics though, especially considering the climate there is the best in the country for preventing rust and such. I was there for a week a while ago and I saw about 5 cars that were pre-1990.

Mass produced.
Simple Box shaped design made it practical and surprisingly safe, compare to it's age.
No excessive accessory that can break or screw up.
Rear wheel Drive, so if you know how to drive a car, you're more in control.
Easy to fix, even a monkey with a wrench and a Haynes manual can do a complete service on them.
And it's damn solid and reliable.

The only newer model i do like, is the S70R
I plan on getting a Grand Prix White S2000 with red/black interior in a year or so. The price is amazing considering the performance of these cars. You can get a relatively mint one for around $12,000 easily. Even though they may have 40,000+ miles on them, it's a honda so they'll last upwards of 100,000 miles.
I hope to get a set of Advan RZ's in matte black in a nice flush offset and a InlinePro turbo kit.
