I got one of those Xplod subwoofers with a 600w Scosche amp. Utter sex.
pump it all the way up and play "see your smile" by scooter. the song is decent if you like techno, but after the first phrase the bass hits so fucking hard. On second thought put it at like half the first time, don't wanna hurt anything. and yea, they're nice but I need to rebuild one of my enclosures, I got them pre-boxed for x-mas and one of them has a good 1/4 inch gap between the boards :/
Heh, I just bought a generic sub box from Walmart. Anything's good as long as resonance stays the fuck out, and seeing as how my trunk's interior is made out of fabric-like coverings, resonance isn't an issue here. Another song I recommend is Dream in Color by Art of Noise, or Born on a Sunday by Art of Noise. Oh yes.
My new e30! got it off Craigslist for $1600. IL6 5spd and 105,xxx Original miles. http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo35/Sirpopsalot_/Picture019.jpg
Yay, another E30 driver. Same color too, heh.
Why not just get a japanese coupé or something instead then? I'd prefer that any time
I'd gladly take a Toyota Ke70 Or a AE86, but it's hard when i come from a vw family :(
This is what I have: This is what I want: :smug:

THAT explains why my handbrake didn't work anymore. http://filesmelt.com/dl/DSC00063.JPG Appearance it was frozen stuck this morning, and in my rush at getting from A to B, didn't notice the car was much slower then usual. D'oh :buddy: (for those who doesn't work on cars much, the brake pads for my rear drumbrakes were literally worn paperthin.)
of?
Gears at the top of things. :ninja:
Well an episode is about 80,000 images plus an audio file, right?
97,200 pictures of 27FPS footage lasting an hour.
Fuck it, I'd gladly drive that car, lancers handle so well. I personally have a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse, 107k miles, stick most everything is stock. Ripped out the entire stereo and replaced it with an alpine CDE-9874 (http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/products/2007/500/x500CDE9874-f_mt.jpeg) head unit, sony speakers (forget what model, I'll update later) and then added two 1300w sony xplod subs and an 800w xplod amp. I think the amp's underpowering the subs though so I'm going to hook them up to my cousins amp and see if it's any better.
I have the same head unit things the tits if you have the alpine power pack hooked up to it got it wired to alpine speakers all around except for the dash which are infinity reference series. and yeah that amp probably is under powering them immensely those 800W xplod's only put out about 300 watts bridged or 150Wx2 at 4OHM I've never gotten why people buy xplods or kickers or JL audio for subs and amps anyway the small builders do it 10 times better for half the cost. I got a true 2000 watt class D amp for 190$ (brutus BXI2010D) and here in a couple weeks I'm picking up a 15" sub that will handle 3K + watts without breaking a sweat (FI audio BTL series) there 350$ everyday of the week. I have nothing against the major brands but I just don't see the point but maybe thats because I spent 2 years installing custom systems. I've seen people pay 2000$ for the same wattage and sub size from a major brand as I have and theres won't even hit half as hard. *end semi rant thing........*
Sony Xplod subwoofers are pretty fucking great. Back off, you.
Sony Xplod subwoofers are pretty fucking great. Back off, you.
Eh there quality control is iffy at best but then again what do you expect when there most expensive sub is 150$. they hit ok but it's not anywhere near a clean hit and they start to go all wonky/bottom out at anything over 400W. A friend of mine was running two 12" Xplods on 400W (each sub was getting around 180-190 watts a piece at 4 OHM) one went dead for a second then came back to life and blew the dust cap/surround clean off so we popped the magnet out and the wires were melted to the magnet. called Sony and they said "yeah that happens sometimes but there hasn't been a recall and it's outta warranty so we can't do anything"
Ooh, your friend is running a mediocre setup with an amplifier that gives less than half the recommended wattage. Damn, that must be accurate.
Ooh, your friend is running a mediocre setup with an amplifier that gives less than half the recommended wattage. Damn, that must be accurate.
1. the amp was a SAZ-1500D aka a competition amp 400Wx1 was what it put out at 4OHM it can put out alot more believe me 2. I never said it was a decent setup it was an interim setup until he could buy something better as his last system got stolen and the SAZ-1500D he had lying around 3. the scorche 600w amp you have? I'm assuming it's a 600C4 it puts out 125Wx4 at 4OHM and you can bridge it to 250Wx2 and that's overstating it probably 225-230W RMS at the subs
No, it's not 125x4. I made sure of that. I was almost going to get an Xplod 2x300 or something amp, but that would be a waste since I got one sub.
Chevy vans are awesome :smug:
I know :buddy: My dad used to have a GMC van but it failed after a while so he sold it :saddowns:
I wanna get a old Chevy van like that and build a Shag'n-Wagon
Luxury Chevy Van > any luxury sedan
I like Cadillac and Lincoln hearses from the 70 - 80's alot too. Anyone else like them? Cadillac Hearse 89
Check out what I posted in the Muscle Car thread IT LIVES

I used to install em alot when I was still working as an installer. the reason they can put 600x4 on it is because the peak wattage on a 14 volt system is 600 watts but real world on a 12 volt system you'll never hit that because RMS and peak wattage are two different things

I'm certain it's 600x1. I looked at the product list on the Scosche website and mine isn't even listed.
