Old hatches, restored nicely are good. I love the look of hatches lowered, with small, wide wheels. Something like this, but different colour wheels: [editline]12:37PM[/editline] However, I am also a fan of rat look styling:
*Facepunch's Ferrari Owner Appears* So I was driving when I saw something that caught my eye today. Not a Lambo, not a Charger, not a Supra, not a GTR, not a fucking Veyron. A mo'fucking 1980-ish Toyota Starlet in Beige. That shit was for real. God damn, that thing restored is a looker.
I come to ask everyone in this thread a question: what is a good first car?
I haven't seen the videos recommended by Tu154m, but here are some tips Know you price range, don't let anyone drive you out of it. Know what you can get for your money; buy a copy of the Parker's guide. It can be incredibly useful for a price estimate, and often mentions any massive reoccuring mechanical faults with the car. Shop around, magazines like autotrader can often be worth a look, there are plenty of places to look online Make sure you see the car in real life if at all possible. Pictures can look good on ebay or similar, but serious rust can be very easily disguised in pictures. A full service record of the car if you can get hold of one is an incredibly good guide to the kind of life the car has had. Finally, don't rush the decision, a car is a serious investment for a first time buyer.
My mum and stepdad checked what the insurance would be for me on our family T-reg Ford Focus. For me, next year, I will be a newly licensed 17 year old male, and it would cost £1250 per year. On the same car, with my 40 year old mother being insured on it, it would cost about £250. :v:
more?
i dont have any recent ones on me and its pouring. thats the only pic with the new exhaust.
Welcome to the wonderful world of insurance, and their policies. Everything makes no sense here.
Because young adults are magnificent drivers and have tons of common sense.
Because young adults are magnificent drivers and have tons of common sense.
Idea: they should have a road test whilst deciding on the amount to see how good the driver is. The better, the lower the amount.
Idea: they should have a road test whilst deciding on the amount to see how good the driver is. The better, the lower the amount.
Retort: And common sense? You're still not going to stop the thoughts that are "I wonder how fast this car will go" or "Hey, I'm only a little drunk."
Idea: they should have a road test whilst deciding on the amount to see how good the driver is. The better, the lower the amount.
Regardless of how well a driver does in one road test, it would take many tests, including ones unknown to the driver, to gauge their level of ability and resolve an average. Young drivers, on average, are less careful, more obnoxious and more prone to accidents.

I was quoted £7000 on a X reg focus, so i then tried the family car like you. Then i was quoted £4000, for a 1.2 Fiat Punto, looks like im getting a bike for now.
Someone hasn't seen how well a Neon ACR does in autocrosses :D
No matter what you come up with, no one on here is going to like a neon. If you're going to autocross, just get a miata. better looking, RWD, and being a closed deck, iron block, it takes well to boost.
I can't think of a single car made in the last 15 years that I actually like. The very cute Trabant P601 is my car of choice:

At 65mph in the rain between two semis.
Is that that damn car in CS:S and HL:2?
It may be based on it but the one in CS:S is a four door. [editline]08:54PM[/editline] Or is it considered a five-door because of hatch? Never understood that shit.
Is that that damn car in CS:S and HL:2?
Yep.
